Everyone is going to have to pay $129 dollars apart from people buying a Mac between now and 24th August and Education (plus other discounts like federal discounts).

As has already been said in this thread, Yes. IF you buy a brand new Mac from Apple after 17th July 2002.

so the apple iBook i bought in may wont be able to be updated threw system update but instead i will have to buy it and dish more money out, correct?? That Blows!

You don't have to upgrade, 10.1.5 won't stop working.

10.1 -> 10.2 is a bigger leap then 98 -> 98SE and 98SE -> ME. It's probably as large as the leap from 2k -> XP. It's worth the money

i'm going to call on monday about those coupons. i havn't seen one straight answer if u can use them or not. if not i'll get jag for 69.95 with the edu discount :)

They are worth nothing. They are distributed with new machines if Apple want to use them. They have decided not to use them.

How do i get the educational discount???

go to Apple.com>click on the STORE tab>click where it say's Education on the menu bar>then pick what grade level you are in>pick your school> and you go from there.
