I use TuneUP Utilities for that, you can adjust icon size up to 128 pixels :o

Pity it changes the start menu ones aswell, makes them look distorted.

And as for the person asking about the Big Icons:

Go to: right click your desktop > properties > appearence tab > advanced > select icon from drop-down menu. Select whatever you desire, then go to icon spacing (horizontal) and adjust that, then do the same for icon spacing (vertical). I usually add 5px to the icon size, but it's all about preference, but if you put a number that is lower than your icon size, your icons will overlap. An example is my Windows computer has an icon size of 48, and spacing of 55 (both ways). I know this isn't five, but I prefer a bigger space.
