I know I ripped Vista. That's the hole point of creating a Vista theme for X:D:D:p:p

but what Im trying to say is that not everyone use the same image that microsoft use in the theme. Some are recreated again to make the theme look "better" than the original.

Is always good to ask first, you wont get in any problem and most of the time author give permissions.

And that is exactly what I said, the author of the other theme didnt acknowledge until late, but as long as a disclaimer stating that work was copied from one source or the other and giving credit for such, surely that is sufficient? Maybe Im wrong, who knows?

At the end of the day I am using your interpretation/skin/theme of Vista, and as mentioned in my earlier post, other peoples interpretations are welcome to me (though yours is favourite). We all see things differently and try to put our own slant on things, which is good IMO. Look at the flack you took in your own topic regard Beta2 ... people want the best, but due to the limitation of the current build, you are made to be the scapegoat, I want Log Off and Shut Down to work properly :(

I can appreciate that the work done by all of you guys (skinning/theming(sp?)) is very hard, I could not do it. And I appreciate all the hard work that you all do, as I certainly wouldnt be able to do half as much as any of you.

Anyhoo, I am diversifying once again, kudos to all of you skinners/theme makers. All of your hard work is appreciated. (Am I repeating myself? I can't tell :))

Peace to all and lets look forward to a lot of new interpretations of Vista on WB5, after all its only 5 more days or so now till its out officially, and all those complainees can see what they have been missing :)

Let me quote myself:

"If you are going to copy someone's work you must alter the work enough so that its different enough from the original."

My comment was specifically targeting when you said, "You can create something by yourself and that way nobody can say you rip them." That is incorrect. If the likeness is too close to the original (which it is for most of the styles' window borders), then you are infringing on MS's copyright.

Personally, I don't care if you do or not because MS doesn't seem to care if the community exists (WB for instance).
