flashcore
I guess its just the newer ATI cards. I have a 9700AIW card and my grafix look alot better then that. I see no such shadows on it. The only thing different in my case tho, im using the Omega drivers and not the stock ATI drivers.
flupke
It's a known bug. Set your shadows to low.
Pulgafree
the quality on my 6600gt card with 81.85 drivers looks better than the posted here. imageshack.us isnt working for me atm, i will post screens as soon it gets working again. Phemo
Shadows still look a bit ropey on my 7800GTX. There are points where it looks more obvious than it does in this pic but you can still see it. I tend to look at the road ahead rather than my car shadows though. Leo Natan
King Mustard, this isn't a bug.. ATI cards lack "Shadow Buffers" (or whatever), thus the ugly shadows. There's a thread already where me and others bash over this issue. Now, some might argue it's EA's fault for going nVidia, but you can't blame them going for the better feature (when I say better feature I mean about the shadows, not the whole card). Elliot B.
Some ATI cards work fine, whether they're newer or older than the 9800 Pro.
SoCalledChaos
ok, seriously, if you are more worried about the shadows in the game, more than the game itself , you shouldnt be playing video games, if the shadows look crappy, turn them off, who cares... i dont need shadows to play a game, and it makes the game run faster for me, but thats not the point... if you dont like it, dont use it
S.MULLA
im running the game on a ATI 850XT PE and its runs fine- not a single problem.. all settings on high.

coolmonk
I don't know why some of you with ATI cards are experiencing this. The game's graphics are just fine on my X800GTO?. I'm using the official ATI Catalyst 5.11 drivers and run the game at 1280x960 with 4xAA/8xAF. Almost all in-game settings are also set to high. Xerxes
Wow looks awesome..so this problem is limited to some but not all ATi cards...seems kinda odd doesn't it? anyway I have noticed in the screenies that the roads don't look bumped mapped...yet in the early shots of the game (talking months ago) they were, not to mention in the limited Xbox 360 shots I've seen the roads were also bump mapped...so even though this game looks pretty awesome already (especially for you lucky GeForce 7 series owners) it's going to look even better on the Xbox 360? if so that is just insane! (but would the Xbox 360 version have the same shadow bug? since it has an ATi GPU ...I'm guessing it probally won't considering it's a generation ahead of the X1k Radeons and 7 series GeForce cards...) Bump-mapped roads, are indeed, one example of how.
