BajiRav
A bit of Prologue on this. I was thinking of using a BT headset in Skype for sometime now. But was not really keen on spending ~$70 for a decent one. Well thanksgiving gave a perfect deal :D and as cheap as I am, I bought one from CompUSA for $10 (after rebates). So here is my short review. Going to use images mostly, since there are only few things I can say about a headset. Click on images for larger size. 1. Since I thought of this review after I opened the package, all you get to see is the badly twisted packaging. :p Other package contents, - AC power adapter - Quick start guide (skimpy but sufficient) - 1 year limited warranty :D (this is what they state on it) - 2 additional soft foam ear pads. (not mentioned on actual packaging, but found inside mine) 2. Specs as given on package - Headset & handsfree Bluetooth profiles - Bluetooth v1.2 compliant - Talk time: up to 7 hours - 250 hours standby - Weight: 23g (feels a bit heavy on ear) - Range: 33' I can't really comment on battery life since my use is intermittent. The manual mentions it takes 4 hrs for full recharge. The battery is not user serviceable but is supposed to last for lifetime of the headset. I found the range to be around 50' with minimal loss of signal (when used with iBook, my cell does not have BT). 3. The headset itself is pretty comfortable to wear but I find it difficult to get on my ears. I am not used to clip-on stuff. There are total 3 buttons on this. 2 for volume control (C & D) and one (F) which is multifunctional and used for power on/off, answer/hang up & pairing. This button also has a LED (B) or rather the LED is a button :D which lights either red or blue and flashes for various states. A detailed list of all states is given in the manual. 4. Headset looks nice from all angles. and I find it a nice combo of form+function. Views from different angles. 5. The headset can go on either ear by simply switching the clip by 180. The clip is made from rubber and is flexible enough to last some rough use. Also the clip base can be rotated to adjust angle. 6. Initially I was not able to find the charging port  and it turned out (after referring the manul) that it was hidden behind the clip hinge. Charger itself is pretty small. Smaller than Nokia travel charger. 7. The pairing procecss was easy thanks to OS X's excellent wizard. - You hold down button F for 4 secs for power on/off. - 10 secs to activate pairing mode. LED flashes red/blue when ready for pairing. - The numeric code 0000 required for pairing is provided in manual. - Once paired, it flashes faint blue and is subtle. 8. After that all I had to do was select headset as audio input/output device under Skype's preferences. And I was up & running in less than 10 minutes after opening the package. Surprisingly Skype still rings through laptop speakers when somebody calls me (or when I place a call). This is a good design on Skype's part I think. Edit: 9. LOL forgot one important aspect. The sound quality is top notch both through speaker & mic and breaks a little at about 50'. Well thats all folks. Hope you find this useful. ;) Edited November 25, 2005 by dhan
iconboy
i have the exact same bluetooth headset and loved it, ... while i towrked. I got it and started using it everyday, then after 4 months it stopped holding a charge- i would turn it on after a long charge and it would lose power after 10 minutes! after a couple of days i called up logitech and they were kind enough to send me a new one even though i couldnt find my reciept, got my new one- happy with it, and then exactly 3 months later i got the same problem! now i called up logitech a couple of days ago and they told me they cant do anything without a reciept this time, doh! I went through all my emails and finally found the reciept, so im gunna call them back, BUT i have a bad feeling that im gunna have to do this all opver again in 3-4 months- Theres a reason its soo cheap, its a piece of crap. But its ok with me. :) Now I've figured out it works good, I can always buy a better one if needed. I just had a curiosity to try this and hence was not keen on spending $70+ on something I won't probabaly use regularly. And I better keep that receipt handy. :D

earlcaulley
I have that same headset, and it doesn't flash like that when fully charged. Sounds to me like the internal battery can no longer hold a charge. Yes, I am aware this is a very old thread, heh.
