WantedDeadeye
How do I go about installing this on a Windows XP Pro x64? I cant copy the win32k.sys and the MouseLock file does nothing. i realy dont now how to instal this file when windows uses it. try over DOS mode, ant mouse lock ir for testing then you patch the win2k sys file then dauble click the mouse lock reg file then restart computer, then go to control panel-mouse:pointer options, and chek enable pointer enhancment ar somtinge like that if yor mouse frezes than the patch forks and you have no mouse accel Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/405363-windows-xp-mouse-acceleration-fix-exe-file/page/2/#findComment-586915416 Share on other sites

Circaflex
reasons why i still wouldnt use it, the CPL hasnt announced that it will be using this, and as we all know cpl doesnt allow drivers to be installed so if they arent using it already, then no way you can use it. Also many lans dont allow the use of drivers so youd be getting used to something for no reason. Simon.UK
Thanks for this, guess I wont notice any difference as ive been using the CPL mouse fix but I think this better as some apps reset the reg setting sometimes. WoodroweBones
I notice alot of people talking about Source games when referring to this. There is a simple fix to this problem without messing with windows....... In your launch options for your steam game simply put: -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel That will disable mouse accel in the game. WantedDeadeye
The nforce commands will not disable accel compleatly in source. this mouse fix is not the reg fix its a system fix read this: "Many gamers were having problems with unwanted mouse acceleration under Windows XP. This was caused by a faulty API call ("SystemParametersInfo") which unintendedly enabled mouse acceleration even if it had been disabled previously. There were some registry fixes aimed at disabling this acceleration, but they did not succeed. This patcher does not try to solve the symptom like the registry fixes did, but disables mouse acceleration at its origin, the system driver ("win32k.sys")."
