[Guide] Disable Nero Scout

Ummm... sorry to rain on your parade, but Options > Disable Nero Scout in the very program itself??? :blink:

That's what I did. No hackz required! :p

OK that WILL disable it but it won't get rid of that icon in My Computer... or not for me at least... That was the first thing that I tried of course.... This thing disables it, deletes registry entry, removes it from memory, and the icon from My Computer.

Thanks a lot for this fix man!

Disable Nero Search:

Run this command:

Cmd.exe /c regsvr32 /u /s "%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\NeroSearch.dll" && regsvr32 /u /s "%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\NeroSearchBar.dll" && regsvr32 /u /s "%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\NeroSearchTray.dll"

Or use the attached shortcut. :)

Hey,

I've installed Nero 7, and enjoyed everything but Nero Scout. The application is quite annoying and unuseful to disable go to the start menu and click on "Run" than type this in the command box:

regsvr32 /u "%COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\Ahead\Lib\MediaLibraryNSE.dll

Enjoy!

Hello, if you are still around...

I am running XP pro and have had the free (I presume) Nero Essentials 7 on my PC for some years.

I pressed the update button which led to downloading update which removed my installation and installed the update ( I presume) . It still calls itself Essentials 7 but i have now ended up with Nero Scout. I believe it puts huge files on your drive as it indexes all your stuff. I already have a desktop search program and i am getting errors and problems since this new install. I have disabled Scout via its options. How can i remove any files it has set up on my C Drive please?

Many thanks
