yup thats bang on.....once you get used to this kind of interface its more easier and efficient, its just a matter of implementing it and people getting used to it.....i hope they do some thing like this in the future operating systems where you dont have to click all the time... if clicking can be eliminated totally, touch screens will become even more easier to use and interfaces in smaller gadgets (pocket pc, mobile phones ) will become much simple to use....

You say it could enver be implemented..

Thats because you are used t this reality of clicking, you would see that with the development of this kind of interface it would be as normal as a clicking interface.

Clicking is an essential part of the user interface.

You could try to make a no-click system like this, but its just not efficient.

With clicking, there is a definitave message when you want to do something.

With a clickless interface, its difficult to tell if the user is moving to another point, or just holding their mouse still to read the information on the page. I found it rather distracting to have to hold my mouse still over a particular point to see it.

yeah it can be a bit annoying when u move ur mouse by accident to a place you dont want to go...and want to get back to the original part you were on....its nice idea and a lot of thought has been put into it...but not something I can see catching on..clicking gives you control....with this clickless thing (even hovering over an advertisement would bring that up etc - least with a click you can control that aspect).

oh man, i neeeed to click something...i think i only wanted to click because it told me not to ;)

That's how I felt. If it didn't bang on about no clicking, gave you no hints and let you realise you weren't clicking you'd like it more. Since it punishes you and whinges I just want to click!

How would you game with a clickless os? drag the crosshair to the head and the other player dies immediately? fun.

Saw this quite a while ago, thought it was a

pain in the ars really.

Same here. I clicked on purpose, just like some other people ;)

I don't like the "clickless interface" idea. First, what if you mouse over a button on accident? Also, think of the tablet/disabled/etc. users...
