Israel has nuclear weapons, has had them for at least 40 years or so. Despite all the wars with its neighbors it has never used nukes. However if the tables were reversed, if the arabs had nukes instead of israel do you think that they would hesitate for a second to use them against israel? You do realize that you're talking about a nuclear bomb, which if used, could cause a mass killing not to mention the radiation issue that would follow? If one is willing to die, he cares not for the after effects if his people are already living in a living hell. Try to think back to the '67 war, isreal was attacked from ALL sides by millions of troops, it was outnumbered and facing almost certain defeat and they were not using nukes. Israel had the superiority in almost every theatre of that conflict. I do not believe the Arab nations would have used or would use nukes. Despite what the propaganda says they are not that bad. If they wanted to nuke someone they would have by now, it is not hard to get hold of nuke weapons. India & Pakistan 3rd world countries have them and have tested them. However, israel had a kick ass military; they destroyed most of the enemy air power in the first two days I think. Also as hard as it is im trying to stay neutral to this topic to see what people think about it, but from the years of experience I had working at the UN and affiliated organizations, I think they were that bad... Pakistan only has about 30 of them where is India has over 300. Oh and if you want to talk about sanity or rational thinking for a second then consider wheter or not Bin Laden would have used a nuke if he could have gotten one. I'm not being mean, I think this is a very racist view, as I said using the word Arabs is generalising. It's like saying all white people hate blacks and wear white hooded masks and carry guns. The thread implies all Arabs are against Israel. Its this kind of narrowmindedness that can cause the conflicts we are seeing. And if Bin Laden wanted to use nukes he would have, you forget that Pakistan is a strong supporter of his cause and they have already provided him with weapons, why not nukes. My views are not influenced by movies but by reality. It is more a, statistically, likelyhood that Israel would use nukes against Palestine. And a whole region might not get affected by the radiation, it all depence on the size of the bomb... But I don't think any terroroist organisation that are working against Israel (for example hamas) would use a nuclear bomb because they wan't the territorie that Israel has, but they also want to get rid of all israelis... I'm no expert on the conflict between the Palastinians and Israelis, but I think they are fighting for what they claim is their holy land. For this reason I don't think they'd blow it all up. A suicide bomber wouldn't be stupid enough to strap a nuke to themselves and Isreal wouldn't be stupid enough to launch a nuke. They would both lose. An the israelis isn't so stupid that theu would use a nuclear bomb if they werent first attacked by one... There are nukes that "only" destroys like a city block and thoose don't send out as much radiation.. But it's true that the suicide bombers would in a way destroy for themselves, it all depends on what they think is most important to kill all israelis or destroy parts of the land they demands... I'm not interested in practicallity, all i wanted to know was how your points of view saw each cultures ability to deal with the bomb. I don't think we need to get into the politics of the region too much to do that. There isin't a newsboard big enough to answer that question. You many agree with what people write, but that doesn't mean that we can't write it. After all what is the point of open conversation if not to let it be out in the OPEN. MxxCon - I agree with you, except on one point. Time and time again when israel was in it's wars with it's enemies they asked for US and UN help and were turned down all the time. They have a mindset that they are on their own. For example during the '67 war the western powers refused to help israel and the lets just say the israel's have not forgotten that.
