Chode
I can't believe they're actually going away with the round start button... I mean, if the corner of the screen was round, ... but it's not! By your logic, why did XP have rounded corners? I mean, if the corners of the screen were rounded, ... but they're not!

Carlos11
Simply great and some nice informations about Vista. And Windows Media Player will have a cover view too. Interesting. Of course, I'll upgrade to Vista. I've been upgrading since Windows 3.11 anyway (I'm getting old)... :)
Julius Caro
By your logic, why did XP have rounded corners? I mean, if the corners of the screen were rounded, ... but they're not! Well, by my logic, windows XP did NOT have rounded corners. Maximized windows don't have round corners at all. stgeorge
By looking through the site it seems to be apparent that, the visual style they display will be the final? Absolutely, (as I've mentioned elsewhere) 5270 is the final look and feel (warts and all). The only changes coming in the next month are to fix blatant typos and errors. The Vista team has begun transitioning off to new projects, leaving a reduced crew to handle the minor bug fixes. All the major architectural and design decisions have been set in stone. Most of the effort and work in the coming months will go into the all the surrounding activities that a major software release entails. These activities require the OS to be nailed down and frozen to avoid extremely expensive rework. C'est la vie, SP2 should be available in early-to-mid 2009 so that's something to look forward to.
