RICHMOND, Va. -- Former Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick, booted from the team last week for his behavior on and off the field, was charged Monday with pulling a gun on three teenagers during an altercation in a restaurant parking lot.

Vick surrendered at the Suffolk magistrate's office after three warrants were issued for his arrest Sunday, Magistrate Lisa Noel said.

The 21-year-old Vick was charged with three misdemeanor counts of brandishing a firearm, and was released on $10,000 bond.

Police said the parents of a 17-year-old boy reported that Vick pointed a weapon at their son and two others during an altercation at a McDonald's in Suffolk, a southeastern Virginia city where Vick's mother lives, Sunday night.

If convicted of all three counts, Vick could be sentenced to up to three years in jail and a $7,500 fine, police spokeswoman Lt. Debbie George said in a statement.

On Friday, Virginia Tech kicked Vick off the team, citing the cumulative effects of numerous legal problems and his unsportsmanlike conduct in the Gator Bowl, where he was caught on tape stomping on the left calf of Louisville All-American Elvis Dumervil.

He also received a speeding ticket and a ticket for driving on a suspended license in Hampton on Dec. 17 while under a "zero tolerance" policy from Virginia Tech.

The policy was implemented when Vick was suspended in 2004 because of several legal problems. He later came under further scrutiny because of replays of his actions against Dumervil.

Vick claimed it was accidental, but hurt his cause by claiming to have apologized to Dumervil, the NCAA sacks leader. Dumervil said he received no such apology.

Saturday, Vick announced he had decided to turn pro.

A Virginia Tech spokesman said university officials would have no comment on Vick's arrest.

"At this point, I think the actions speak for themselves," the spokesman, Larry Hincker, said.

Vick is the younger brother of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick. He was the runner-up to Wake Forest's Chris Barclay, by one vote, as the Atlantic Coast Conference's offensive player of the year, and was the league's first-team quarterback.

In 24 career games, the 6-foot, 212-pound Vick threw for 2,868 yards, 19 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He also ran 184 times for 492 yards and six TDs.

/\ Its also funny because when he came back to VT he was saying how he was a "shut in" and didn't go out much or do anything. He was talking about how much he learned from the suspension from VT. What a loser...and a total embarrassment to the school and to the football program. Frank Beamer took Michael Vick under his wing and was the father he never had. Then this piece of trash comes along and show how different two brothers can be.

You guys should see the local newspapers/news broadcasts...Apparently ALOT fans and big-time donors to the school wrote letters and emails demanding that Vick be kicked out of the university. I'm glad we have cut ties with him...he's on a downward spiral.

*I posted some info on this from the Suffolk Police Department earlier today when it broke in the other thread about him...if you wanna read what they said it's here and here

wtf why is everyone up the Vick family's ass?

he's not hurting the name. he's not hurting mike's reputation. he's only hurting himself. he has no chance of getting drafted early, if at all now. and honestly i'm glad. the nfl doesn't need another highly overrated player named Vick in it.

Sorry, didn't see that you posted it in the other thread...

haha, maybe we can have a "Definative - Marcus Vick is an Idiot" Thread.. :)

haha I didn't mean it like that...I just didn't wanna repost all of that :p

Yeah, because, you know, people aren't going to automatically recall that he's related to Michael Vick and assume something is wrong with the family... noooo, that'd never happen :)

It always fascinates and amuses me to listen to, or read editorials by, people who have not had the pleasure or displeasure of walking in another shoes. It?s frustrating, however, to see people criticize someone else?s family or personal integrity in a society where we are supposed to innocent until proven guilty. I graduated from Virginia Tech in 1991 and appreciate the Hokies rebirth in football starting with the 1994 Gator Bowl and Jim Druckenmiller. Growing up in eastern Virginia if I had been so close minded I would have ruled Allen Iverson out when he was pardoned by the Governor of Virginia at the age of 17. While I don?t necessarily agree that we are victims of our environment I do understand that I don?t understand the impact it has on our lives and our interpretation of right and wrong. While the kid (Marcus Vick) has an expectation of live up to, we shouldn?t feel so free to express our freedom speech without allowing him his right to due process and overcoming his own uncertainty.

Michael Vick made us all aware of Marcus Vick. Marcus didn't do a damn thing in college to be worthy of all the talk. If his brother hadn't come before him, he'd be just another loser throwing his life away and it wouldn't be news (notice we've hardly heard crap about the LSU kid who got arrested for drugs).

I agree with Stevo, this doesn't do a thing to Michael. I wish ESPN and the rest of the sports world would seperate the two, I'm sick of that crap. I can't recall how many F-bombs I threw at ESPN when they kept showing Michael on the sidelines of a VT game. After every damn play from Marcus they would cut to Michael and somehow connect the dots. BS.

And a final note: you've gotta love how Frank Beamer was the last guy in line to get rid of this piece of shyt from the team. It took the school administration to intervene and probably rip Beamer a new one before he realized the situation. Urban Meyer would have booted him off the team back when the whole underrage sex rampage occured.

While I agree (mostly), he's been found guilty every time. And yes, as sports fans, we do have a right to express ourselves because it's guys like him that get all the publicity, all the hype, all the news spots. While guys like Kevin Garnett are building 25 houses out of his own pocket for displaced Katrina victims, this POS Marcus Vick gets the headlines.

Kevin Garnett should be getting the accolades not him. There's so many guys in sports who do good things and they get nothing. And since all the media thinks this negative shock value sells, I'm standing up for what I believe in and saying "Hey, it doesn't sell with me."

Urban Meyer would have booted him off the team back when the whole underrage sex rampage occured.

And I would assume you think an 18 year old single male at a college party should ask each girl he meets for proper identification, and possible hire a private ingestigator to verify its validity? Maybe he can call her parents and say "hey, I just met your daughter at a college party drinking beer and dancing all over me. Is she at least 18, free of STD's, and have your consent to sleep with me?". He was 18, rationalize this please before you spew anymore verbal masturbation.

How immature and weak to blow it open like that.

Go back and read what happened. He was convicted and spent a month in jail for willingly giving those girls alcohol. He didn't just find them already drunk at a party.

But your right, he was only 18, so let's just give him a little talk and tell him don't do it again.

Ooooops, 3 months later charged with reckless driving and marijuana possession, going 21 mph over the speed limit. Still, he's only 18 so we'll let that pass.

No suprise you're defending the guy since VT is in the ACC along with thugU and F$U. ACC - Always Clearing Convictions

 I now support both UVa & VT. But when they play each other, I still have to go with my roots (Go UVA :p )

Haha my ears are bleeding now... :p

I agree with most of what you said...There are alot of athletes who get attention for the wrong reasons (Marcus is one of them). Guys like Garnett and Warrick Dunn and Edgerrin James build homes for people and help kids out in bad communities and you never hear about it.

You can't get on Coach Beamer though...He wanted Marcus off the team after the possession charge (because he said he wasn't a good leader/role model for teammates and the community). But the AD wanted to keep him around and give him another shot (for ticket sales, recruiting, etc..). So he was suspended and given another chance. He and Beamer have had several verbal spats apparently.

Ewww...easy on the imagery :p

I see your point...its impossible to tell if a girl is over 18 or not, especially when your on a college campus. Some of those girls look like they are 22 or 23. And they ARE there to drink...and not drink coca-cola.

How immature and weak to blow it open like that.

Do you/have you been to college? If so how many times have you had chicks over to your place with other friends and you've given them alcohol? Probably alot...and I bet you didn't card them either. Like I said above that whole situation is the easiest to forgive. I think Marcus getting busted speeding with weed was worse. That was where he started to show he was brain damaged...

but PLEASE don't tell me your comparing VT to FSU and "Da U"....We got one guy making headlines, not a whole history of them....
