Haha my ears are bleeding now... :p

I agree with most of what you said...There are alot of athletes who get attention for the wrong reasons (Marcus is one of them). Guys like Garnett and Warrick Dunn and Edgerrin James build homes for people and help kids out in bad communities and you never hear about it.

You can't get on Coach Beamer though...He wanted Marcus off the team after the possession charge (because he said he wasn't a good leader/role model for teammates and the community). But the AD wanted to keep him around and give him another shot (for ticket sales, recruiting, etc..). So he was suspended and given another chance. He and Beamer have had several verbal spats apparently.

Ewww...easy on the imagery :p

I see your point...its impossible to tell if a girl is over 18 or not, especially when your on a college campus. Some of those girls look like they are 22 or 23. And they ARE there to drink...and not drink coca-cola.

Do you/have you been to college? If so how many times have you had chicks over to your place with other friends and you've given them alcohol? Probably alot...and I bet you didn't card them either. Like I said above that whole situation is the easiest to forgive. I think Marcus getting busted speeding with weed was worse. That was where he started to show he was brain damaged...

but PLEASE don't tell me your comparing VT to FSU and "Da U"....We got one guy making headlines, not a whole history of them....

The Beamer remark and the comparison were a little long in the tooth, I admit. I guess I'm a bit ticked off at the fact that it seems like Virginia Tech is selling it's soul to the devil. I've read a few articles in the past week commenting on how undisciplined the current players are, their attitudes on the field, and so forth. And this is coming from fans and local media, not just outsiders like me. I like Frank Beamer, his special teams and defense have always been admirable, but it seems to me that by Tech going to the ACC they are trying to become something they aren't. I know, it's all about money now days, that's why they made the move from the Big East to the ACC. But they don't need to lose their identity or their demands of a program to be successful. Like you said, they don't have a history of crap like this, I'd hate to see it start now.

And yes, I have been to college, 3 000 miles away from home in fact. I know the lifestyle, I know the temptations, I know the opportunities and I can understand the situations of high-profile, young kids and resisting temptations. However, I always tended to avoid putting myself in situations where I could risk hurting myself or other people so I cannot relate to that aspect of it. In the end, he made his decisions, nobody else. And you're right, the girls and alcohol is the easiest to forgive and it also should have been the easiest mistake to learn from. Obviously, Vick sees himself as above the law and he can do whatever it is he feels like. Well, if you want to act like that and treat others like they are your doormat to whatever goals you have, then I say screw you. He stepped on people to get to his position, Beamer trusted him and believed in him and so did the university. I cannot stand when people disrespect others, that's probably my #1 pet peeve and probably why I feel so strongly about this.

I think Vick's comment at the restaurant after he was expelled says it all. "I'll just move on to the next level, baby."

@Soloredd ---Your right on every point you made...VT has had more trouble in the past 2 years than ever. But it has mainly stemmed from 3 players (Marcus Vick, Chris Ellis, and Mike Imoh). I think this is the first step in making sure they send a message out that this isn't going to be tolerated. Its a total embarassment to me and pretty much all of the VT fans I know. I've never seen VT get this much negative press over something and I hate it.

I think Marcus assumed he could ride Michaels coat-tail and not have to answer to anyone. I think he is a cocky, spoiled, and selfish person for acting the way he has. This is probaby the first time he has really been held accountable for his actions... I'm glad to see him go though.

Oh, yeah, I'd certainly not think anything bad of VT just because there is a moron like him that goes to the school. It's not their fault. I'm glad to see that VT was proactive in kicking him off the team. I'd be with the people requesting he be kicked out of the school as well. Give him a dose of what real life is like.

Why is it so hard to stay out of trouble for these athletes. Does he think the "Vick" name will allow him to break the law, continuously, without repercusions. He'll still try and go pro like Maurice Clarett (OSU) be denied and continue with the downward spiral of being in trouble. I think he has a slim chance in Canada or Europe but definitely not in the NFL, they wont touch him. T.O. is a lot better and he is being dropped and tossed around.

It's funny that you guys think that Vick won't get drafted and that he won't play in the NFL. If a team thinks he's good enough to play, he'll get drafted regardless of his actions off the field. The NFL doesn't ban scum.

guys with character problems fall and sometimes don't get drafted at all. He'll be lucky to go 2nd day. But maybe, like Maurice Clarett, he finds one stupid team that will take him in the 4th or something (Clarett went in the 3rd for Denver and was cut like a month later).

The NFL has no problem with drafting and signing guys with legal trouble...look at Ray Lewis, Larry Johnson, Jamal Lewis, Sean Taylor...just a FEW off the top of my head.

Marcus will probably get drafted, but it will be late in the draft...
