[Shell Patcher] Tango Icons for Windows

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of compiling an icon theme for the Playstation Portable, to replace the ugly-as-sin XMB icons I have now.

Why this sudden spark of interest, you may ask? Well, with a new exploit that's come out recently, I might as well prepare for the inevitable.

Who on Neowin besides myself owns a PSP, and would like to see this?

I can test it on my PSP now, I was looking for someone who could do that (you can see my previous posts in this topic) ... so I'll gladly help

That'd be great. My PSP is asking to be Tango'd!

Well, since there's a few people who're wanting to try this, I'll get on it.

However, there'll be a bit of a wait: I'm not currently able to get ahold of PSP custom firmware, so I won't be able to fully test it yet. However, the exploit recently released by the Noobz team (named Illuminati) will possibly open up that field of exploration for myself.

Hmmm... How about a Tango-style skin for XBMC?

I was thinking about that too, there's an "xTV" appleTV inspired skin out there, which could be tango'd really nicely :shiftyninja:

Great work by the way.

Would it be possible to add a 5th theme for turbo tango shell patcher called Human. this icon tweaker theme has the icons i am talking about. Please check it out.

ooh, that would be cool. I've always liked the Ubuntu icon theme :)

It's not going to happen from me, not a chance. I have too many projects (and too many subprojects in the Tango meme, which Human isn't in anyways, although its first cousin Tangerine is) to pick up another one (if anything, I need to drop something). If someone else wants to put together, test, and debug it as a dirty little add-on/wrapper that uses STTP's install-time resource overriding, then so be it, and I can drop a link in my FAQ so the entire universe can stop bothering me about it, but I'm not going to throw any time at it, whatsoever.

Yeah. I was part of the development team for xTV :p

They also would solve the thumbnail problem in vista, wouldn't they... Vert?
Kinda, but TBH the only icons that'll really work properly on Vista are Vista's. I'm thinking I'll have to do a shape-identical colour mimic, like I did for the XP thumbnail icons (only as proper SVGs and not as a set of raster and vector layers in PSP), as my quick-and-dirty attempt at sidewaysing at least the Gnome folder icon didn't turn out so hot:

Sorry, but I must disagree, the icon may not be "hot" but it is cool.

You do good work, and I like a system that dances. :D

me like it

I'm sure someone else has mentioned them before me, but has any of you guys seen the new ubuntu studio icons?Pretty stylish imho... They also would solve the thumbnail problem in vista, wouldn't they... Vert?
a quick look @ them made me think they can look fine in WLM.....
