Roll Over Buttons

Hi guys,

I am trying to make some convincing looking roll over buttons in photoshop.

The buttons need to look 3D and the rollover state must look like the button has been physically pushed.

I will try and upload what I have done so far.

I have no problems making the button appear 3D, I am just unsure how to make it look like it has been pushed in.

Any help appreciated.

Yeah, make what was light, now dark, and vice versa.

not quite NJ, you need some shadow too I'll say

It can be done by changing the direction of gradients. Like the one below I made for a site.

There are several ways of doing what you want; it will depend on the type and style of button you’ll be using.

Thanks for replying, I get what you are saying, the round ones look convincing, but it seems really hard to make a convincing looking rectangle 3D button. The above examples are pretty much what I have at the minute but they don't really look like they have been pushed.
