CrazyDelta
Oh my. Call me slow but I had totally ignore the world of theming and visuals until today when I reading the Neowin Front page on New Windows Standard Theme for Vista. In there someone commented on a visual style available for WinXp. And this is how I started searching more on themes and it landed me to Luna Element 5. Absolutely great job Mr. Em3. It is Brilliant! Just one newbie question tho - Do you think it is possible for me, to incorporate "the toolbar only" from New Window Standard Theme Vista onto Luna Element 5? Since Luna Element 5 is a combination of the old and new, I thought this would be ideal. Just a thought... I really liked the new toolbar, especially the Microsoft Logo as the start button. em3
^Sorry, I don't know what you mean. Here is a screenshot though of LE v5.1 in its current state. The top is the toolbar, and the bottom is the taskbar.

The top is the toolbar, and the bottom is the taskbar. Yes, the theme was getting too soft for my taste. Looks like that's fixed in 5.1 Oh and also, just as a request, can you think about a new start button? It's grown on me but I think something new could help the theme. And I did a little cut and past with Paint Shop Pro to let you know what I wanted.

I dont have anymore words for it :D Stop teasing us! :p You should keep the startbutton the way it is now, that looks better then all the other ideas. :)
CrazyDelta
You should keep the startbutton the way it is now, that looks better then all the other ideas. :) That's OK. I just wanted to know how I could do it for myself. What program to use that is simple and easy.

And I did a little cut and past with Paint Shop Pro to let you know what I wanted. That looks hot. Maybe he could do a few tweaks to make it blend a little better but that looks good. srn
em, please change the inactive toolbar state back to the le4 look. imho the inverted gradient doesn't look good.
Jamushroom Veteran Posted July 10, 2006 Veteran Share Posted July 10, 2006 Please dont make a Vista startbutton cause they look terrible IMO and I'm sick of vista themes. @srn: the the inactive titlebar from LE5 looks better IMO then LE4 :p @CrazyDelta: You can use Resedit by TGTSoft for that :)
em3
LE will not have the Vista startbutton. Because: 1. It doesn't look good imo. The colors doesn't match. 2. I don't want to include ripped parts in the theme. I'm going to do some work on the startbutton though. Making it darker when it's pressed, like original Luna. About the inactive caption. It will be inverted but i'm working on it to make it look a little bit better and more discrete.

trAsher
Will LE 5.1 have an updated black substyle too ? - Maybe with good old LE4 dark selection highlight colors? ;) trAsher :)
Michael1406
When LE5 first came out I preferred version 4, but now I've been using v5 for about 4 months and it's brilliant, I don't think it can be replaced. I'm looking forward to any future versions you may release. Thanks for making such an excellent VS, em3. You may have also seen my fb2k setup in the big thread, it uses pretty much the same colours as the VS, but mine's a darker theme as opposed to your personal one. em3
Here is the updated black. :) Only mockup currently. Btw. I created the startbutton in like 2 minutes and it might not be the final one, but I think it looks pretty good. It's the normal state style (not pressed that is). Jamushroom Veteran Posted July 10, 2006 Veteran Share Posted July 10, 2006 That looks awesome! I like that new startbutton :D I know it's still a mockup but are you going to use that selection color for the black substyle? (offtopic: Where can I find that wallpaper?) Ji@nBing
Looking nice, but I much prefer the regular black start button. The grey one is too jarring and doesn't flow with the rest of the theme.
