Jamushroom Veteran Posted February 6, 2007 Veteran Share Posted February 6, 2007 one more try.... A lot of themes has that bug and it's no theme bug, it's a Theme engine bug. It's because the borders around such windows are one pixel smaller :)

Also maybe in a next release we could have a startmenu with this type of highlight> (Tener VS by MohsinNaqi)

chavo
If you really like that sort of thing it's not too hard to modify yourself. The easiest way I have found is to use Windowblinds and SkinStudio. Import the styles into skinstudio and then you can just mix and match pieces from different themes, colorize them, etc. I use this method to create the perfect LE theme for me. It starts with LE4( the best LE :p) as the base, and I imported the scrollbars and dropdown buttons from LE5. It's so easy with SkinStudio and no I don't work for Stardock, I just like to modify my themes and I'm real lazy about it.

amd2500+
Great looking theme as always, just a quick observation though, It appears to me that upon hover in all applications the scrollbars, arrow buttons, and drop down combo box arrow buttons do not change color, is this by design? Jamushroom Veteran Posted February 9, 2007 Veteran Share Posted February 9, 2007 Yeah, that's by design they only have pressed states ;)
Black Stallion
Find shellstyle.dll. Go into the same directory as LE.msstyles. Create folder called Shell. Create folder called Blue (or BlueC), and drop the shellstyle in there. Hello! I tried to use a shellstyle posted here and followed the instructions above and didn't work. Little help here!!! Cheers

amd2500+
Anyone has any ideas/suggestions? Or is this a bug that we have to live with because of the size of the buttons? Jamushroom Veteran Posted February 15, 2007 Veteran Share Posted February 15, 2007 @amd2500+: What you want is not possible, it's a limitation of the Windows skinning engine. The images that is used there is the same as the image that is used for a maximized window. If you change the image to look nice for that tipe of windows it wont look nice on maximized windows :)
amd2500+
Thanks for the explanation. I guess the only way these buttons will look right with the windows skinning engine is for them to be all the same size? The reason I say this is all the other themes I've used with uniform sizing buttons don't have this issue. @amd2500+: What you want is not possible, it's a limitation of the Windows skinning engine. The images that is used there is the same as the image that is used for a maximized window.
