Martyn
Nice car, wont be as successful as they were when they had BMW on their side. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/426589-f1-2006/#findComment-587132142 Share on other sites
milu
It seems that in 2007 Williams will make a partnership with Toyota and their V8 engine power Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/426589-f1-2006/#findComment-587133880 Share on other sites
BigGiantHead
That car looks damn good. Very sleek. Hope that William's fortunes increase this year, and that Narain may get a race or two in the driver's seat. geek_rohit
Williams will probably be in the midfield in the start of the year, and maybe then gradually have a rise in the performance. The official test sessions should reflect some level of performance. dj6ross
I think they might get 1 car to finish in the top 5 in the standings. I'm still a little curious on the whole F1 switching from V10s to V8s. Toyota and Williams in 2007, seems like a good combo. Fast combination at least :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/426589-f1-2006/#findComment-587136085 Share on other sites

Williams always do well in initial testing but when it comes to racing they dont perform that well. dj6ross
Question? Did they change the tire rule? No more one set of tires for the entire race anymore I hope... That was a major concern to me if they care about Money more than Safety. Yes new tires are faster, but less prone to "exploding/blowing out" then the old worn out ones. I saw enough flats last year. Paul
I think we are all forgetting Cosworth mayu not have been that great with V10's.....but they have a vast knowledge and experience with V8's which could benefit Williams and suprise a few. Tyres, yes, they can be changed mid-race again. Overall, it's going to be a very intresting season with the engine switch, some will be using modified V10's, some V8's. Red Bull will be using Ferrari engines, which could put them up a few places from last season if they build a decent car again. The switch to V8's also allows the rear end to be much much more neatly packed and re-designed significantly. I think V8's will be as fast as the V10's n a few years, they are only 4-5 seconds off the pace now. They have changed the tire rule. There are a larger variety of tires available than ever before and they can be changed in pit stops etc. I think this is mainly due to the safety factor, like last season when Kimi Raikkonen's tire failed, that was a very dangerous situation. I think the FIA have realised they can slow the cars down in other less dangerous ways. Good decision in my opinion :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/426589-f1-2006/#findComment-587136558 Share on other sites

hulibecker
Oh McLaren Honda ...The days of Senna v Prost! Showing my age now! I even remember Mansell pushin his car over the finish line back in the early 80's !!!! Cant wait for new season to begin! Seen some shots of the new cars and so far looking good! Although the interim colour of McLaren is not lookin good, Orange!!! YUK Hoping that changes with new sponsors etc b4 the first race! Martyn
Although the interim colour of McLaren is not lookin good, Orange!!! YUK Hoping that changes with new sponsors etc b4 the first race! I agree with that. McLaren cars are normally very sexeh, but the reason they have gone orange while they have no sponsor is because orange where the team's original colours :). The Vodaphone partnership does not become active until 2007 so I dont think McLaren will have a sponsor next season, but I still want them to produce a sexual car! Drone
Ah, thanks Paul. I grew up on "Williams BMW", it's going to be hard to change to "BMW Sauber". Oh well, I hope they have a good season. What? Are you 5 or something? What about Williams Renault? That wasn't too long ago! To be honest, I've been away from F1 following for far too long. I used to follow every single qualifying and race even the Aussie ones that would require me to stay up all night. I reckon they should get Mansell back in F1. That'd show Schumacher who's the boss. Schuey wouldn't stand a chance. :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/426589-f1-2006/#findComment-587139002 Share on other sites

BMW Williams was all I remember as it was the first team I was introduced to. Didn't follow much with racing. EDIT: Here's a picture of the BMW Sauber F1 if you haven't already seen it. It's from the team site and I must it looks quite sexy.
