[OFFICIAL] X360 Dashboard/Game Updates

Recommended Posts

Chaos Theory was on the list at launch I believe, but it was buggy as all hell last I tried. It would freeze up if you tried to do Co-Op with someone on an original Xbox. Maybe it's compatibility was updated back in February and it works better now?

sorry was only saying that the list had appeared to have been updated and those were all the titles that said "new!" next to them

Yeap, it's a great update, really brings the multiplayer aspect on par with other quality multiplayer titles.

I agree, and I'm finally able to enjoy the Live MP of CoD2 with friends :)

Yeah, the Campaign/Co-op works fine until you go on Live, then it makes you Auto-Update, which in reality, actually screws up the Campaign/Co-op levels (freeze on load). The only way to fix this is to delete the save game files in the dashboard.

In conclusion, you can either choose to: A) Be able to play Campaign and Co-op but NO live play or B) Live play but NO Campaign or Co-op

Halo 2 seems to have been updated as well. I popped it in tonight to get a few games in and I was prompted before loading the game that an update was available. So I downloaded that and then it restart and loaded Halo 2 again just like any other Live update. I'm not really sure what changes were made, but I presume it has something to do with bettering the emulation engine, maybe the slow-downs in backwash aren't there anymore or the failure to load map bug is fixed. I haven't been able to test out backwash but I didn't have any 'failure to load map' errors, so maybe that was fixed.

Can anyone find any info or confirm this update?

The v1.1 you are referring to was there since the release of the Multiplayer Map-Pack (and even earlier with the Live update over the summer). It addresses various gameplay issues regarding grenade/melee attack strength amongst other things.

I think the mandatory update that was released yesterday deals with the emulation engine for the Xbox 360, but I'm not sure as to what exactly has changed/been improved.

Not sure where oddcrap is, he's falling behind in the updates to this thread, but anyway, I'll attempt to pick up the slack:

Big Updates Coming for the 360

Xboxic

 If they add Movie support... I'm going to have to eat so many hats after I declared it would never happen.... and just as I started building my Media Center PC as well :\

Motherboard failure  It was horrible..

Ahw man, I'm sorry to hear that. I recently went through a major hard-drive crash. It's so frustrating... Hope all is well!

It is going to happen. There were reports a while back about how Microsoft and DirecTV are partnering up to provide content on the Xbox 360 (presumably). It's definitely happening, but as to when, no one really knows but it will most likely be towards the end of this year/early next.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but it seems theres a date for the PGR stuff;

Speed Pack will be available April 17--part for free, part for five bucks; extras include tournament feature, a dozen new cars.

Every car enthusiast knows there is no such thing as too many high-priced, luxury automobiles. Bizarre Creations' Project Gotham Racing 3 not only lets gamers speed around real-world locales such as New York and Tokyo, it also lets them collect some real-world cars.

Project Gotham Racing 3 players' virtual garages are about to get a bit more cramped this month, as the developer has revealed the game's first downloadable content pack will be available April 17. The Speed Pack will be released in two parts, one that is free of charge and one that costs 400 Marketplace points ($5).

The pack is being made available the same day that qualifying for the game's first global tournament debuts. The game's free download includes access to the tournament feature, as well as one new car and "new feature enhancements and fixes." Those who plop down the 400 Marketplace points will get 12 new cars, including a Ferrari 612 Scagletti and Aston Martin V8 Vanquish

You mean streaming video files without an MCE 2005 PC? Support for that is coming as well to ordinary Windows XP computers and it will also be available in Windows Vista. There was a post by MajorNelson (I believe) regarding this functionality coming eventually.
