alpha_omega
Intel chipsets only support UDMA5. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/427752-enable-udma-mode-6-ata-133/#findComment-587142801 Share on other sites

I just thought it was odd that they didn't support that.. I've never owned an Intel system.. Just in the black.. alpha_omega
You shouldn't worry so much about the interface speed. Watch the "Reallocated Sector Count" for the next few days closely. If it increases (which means more bad sectors) then it's time for a new disk. Another thing: BACKUP! tomcat68
As far as the 133 speed, Maxtor is really the only company that supports it harddrive wise. There are a few chipsets out there that support it but most do not. Reasoning being, there was not that much speed improvement for the money to implement the standard, and the transition to SATA at the time it came out. Most everyone took the SATA route.
