ObiWanToby
Is there an extention that has a small tab to open a new tab next to the current active one, like in IE7 in Firefox? I found that a very good design to open a new tab with, was just wondering. Salgoth
Tab Mix Plus does it quite nicely.... be advised that several other tab browsing enhancement extensions also have this behavior as an option and you may want to check them out also. Just because I'm a fanboy of TM+ doesn't mean it will be a perfect fit for you. 505
Anything wrong with double-click? It's just one click extra on the tab bar, and you don't even need an extension. Plarkster
Plenty of options as the other guys have said. I use Tab Mix Plus anyway so recommend giving that a look as it has some other great options. Here's a link. Ooh - new version! To be honest "505" is perfectly correct. Double clicking a blank spot on the tab bar is by far the easiest way and most people are not even aware FF did it...I SURE WASN'T! Thanks 505! stewright
CTRL + T ? Why does everyone rely on the mouse so much. It's so slow and annoying. Calculator
or middle-click on Home (set to about:blank) Middle-click on Home will cause the homepage loading in a new window... But double-clicking on a blank spot on the tab bar and Ctrl+T are the most known ways. ;) ...Or add the New Tab button to your bar! ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/431600-firefox-new-tab-button-similar-to-ie7s/#findComment-587186507 Share on other sites

dyn
Anything wrong with double-click? It's just one click extra on the tab bar, and you don't even need an extension. You can't do that. When doubleclicking it will select a tab, it won't open a new one. Nor does ctrl-t do what the topicstarter wants it to do, please read what he wants to do. Things like doubleclicking (in a blank space !) and ctrl-t will only open an new tab at the far end (right) of the tabbar and not next to the current active one. Very annoying when you have like 20 tabs, you always have to go to the far end. The only way to have this kind of behaviour is by using an extension like tab mix plus as Salgoth already pointed out. ObiWanToby
CTRL + T ? Why does everyone rely on the mouse so much. It's so slow and annoying. Why does everyone complain when a user wants what they want. I just like the look and feel of that extra tab, for now I am using control T, but I find the mouse to be more convient and easier, not that the keyboard is hard to use. Saadu
Right Click on the empty area of toolbar Click Customise, you can insert a tab button in your toolbar. What id like to see in future is having an X at the end of the tab like IE so i can close tabs right there rather go all the way to the end of a window. You don't have to go to the end of the window to close the tab, just click the middle mouse button on the tab you wish to close. A little X on each tab? Screw that. Middle click a tab. It closes. Wow!
