i think Leopard will be a free upgrade anyway, jst like 10.0 to 10.1

And that's based on what? The only reasons why 10.1 Puma was a free update is because 10.0 Cheetah was an impossible system to work with and Apple released it only four months after Mac OS X' initial release. Also, it didn't include any huge new features but mostly bug fixes.

10.5 won't be free. It would be at least a couple hundred MB, if not closer to a GB.

The only reason Apple released 10.1 as a free update was because 10.0 was a classic 1.0 OS.
