DrunknMunky Veteran Posted October 17, 2008 Veteran Share Posted October 17, 2008 Only if the PS3 hardware sold is only replacements too I guess? Just because software for them isn't in the top 10 doesn't mean theres none being sold at all or they are replacement consoles. That's just crazzzzzeh talk ;)
nmesisca
PS3 sells hardware and not software because most people buy it as a Blue ray reader, and not a consolle.

AlphaPrime
Top 10 doesn't always tell the story. There are plenty of titles that continue to sell a few thousand here and there to new buyers outside of the first 10. Here are the HD games in the Top 50: 25. [PS3] Aquanaut's Holiday (SCEI) 32. [PS3] Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream - Reprise (Namco Bandai) 33. [PS3] Cross Edge (Compile Heart) 49. [360] Tales of Vesperia (Namco Bandai) After the Top 10, usually the differences in game sales are in the hundreds between each position, or even less. +Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted October 17, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted October 17, 2008 What the hell you guys rattling on about. Both consoles are selling like absolute **** in Japan. It's like saying "my consoles selling slightly less **** than yours, but it's still selling like ****" The only thing selling there is the Wii/PSP/DS. Crazy Japanese  Do we have a similar thread for US NPD? I don't see one.... I made one at one point, but nobody seemed to care lol.
The Teej
Do we have a similar thread for US NPD? I don't see one.... There's usually an individual thread for each NPD results, I have to admit I'd much prefer a single thread for all NPD data. Anyway, looks like everyone's down this week. This is the third week this has happened, too (well, bar a PS2 jump one week and a PSP jump the week after). We had the high point at 15-21 Sept, and then every week after that the sales were down. Lets hope this is only because of the new hardware revisions coming out, and not the start of something bad. EDIT: Perhaps getting a mod to merge all of the NPD threads together might work? I don't mind going back and getting all of them if a mod doesn't mind merging them all.
AlphaPrime
I don't mind separate threads for each NPD, since they're only monthly. Either way, here are the numbers for September (includes 360 price drop): Wii - 687,000 NDS - 536,800 360 - 347,200 PSP - 238,100 PS3 - 232,400 PS2 - 173,500 Lets hope this is only because of the new hardware revisions coming out, and not the start of something bad. PSP should get a good boost next week with the 3000 model. It's sales seemed to drop right after Sony announced it was coming. Same with the DSL (was doing 50/60k+ a week before the announcement of the DSi).

And wow! PSP numbers shot though the roof this week. I don't know why I'm surprised (seen as they didn't do it with the S&L), but they seem to keep the PSP-3000 numbers in with the other PSP numbers. I wonder if the DSi sales numbers will be split or not.
