Recommended Posts

Just went over to Hydrogenaudio.org and look what I found...

http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=42591

Change log:

- Reworked UI structure, removed various redundant / rarely used features.

- New: Media Library, replacing old “database” functionality.

- Improved playlist management - better handling of multiple playlists, native multilevel undo and more.

- Changes in title formatting script (field remappings) to make common operations easier.

- New: Converter, replacing old “Diskwriter” component. Includes album image writing (cuesheet creation, direct encoding to MP4 with chapters), preview generation and multi-CPU optimizations. Most popular encoders are supported out-of-the-box; more encoders can be added using generic commandline encoder setup.

- Improved support for specific file formats: faster tag updates with MP3 and FLAC, new native ID3v2 support, rewritten MP4 support now including chapters, rewritten cuesheet handling with improved handling of embedded cuesheets, improved AAC streaming support, and more.

- Various speed optimizations, improved UI responsivity during time-consuming operations; better handling of overkill playlist scripts.

- New: file type associations page in preferences.

- New and improved ReplayGain scanner with proper multichannel support and multi-CPU optimizations; now with option to apply RG adjustment directly to audio data in MP3 files.

- Improved audio CD support, with simple secure ripping functionality.

- Rewritten network code.

- Improved security by replacing various third party libraries with own implementations.

- Various usability improvements.

- Dropped Windows 95/98/ME/NT4 OS support. Windows 2000, XP or newer is now required.

Title of post should read Foobar2000 0.9 RELEASED. Somehow I forgot the 2000 part. Oops.

Great news! Absolutely love this media player.

I'll make the switch to .9 in a few weeks, whenever most components are recompiled for the new foobar version.

Exactly my thoughts :)

Worthless upgrade, none of the previous plugins will work with this, not only that, the SDK has not been released for 0.9. No audio improvements, just keep 0.8x

SDK is there and it's very obvious that 0.8.3 plugs doesn't work.

You can't expect updated plugins to be released at the same time as the application. :p SDK is released and my guess is that the popular plugins will be updated within a week or so.

Geez, give the plugin developers a few days before calling it worthless. :shiftyninja:

The SDK is right there on the download page...

I think i'm going to have to try foobar, winamp's media library is becoming very slow with the amount of music I have now. I'll miss ClearONE beta though if I switch :(

Awesome! The only reason I didn't like using foobar was because I found it extremely hard to customize. Now, though, you can actually select the colours you want, etc... :)

Two quick questions, though - is there any way I change change the colour of the selection text?

Also, is there any way I can remove this from the status bar?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Also, how do I remove the playlist bar below the toolbar?

Yes, you can remove it.

Preferences -> Display -> Columns UI -> Status bar/Systray -> Show volume :)
