I feel awful. I just ran over a bunny which ran out in front of me on my way home from my girlfriends :( I saw the rabbit and it was directly in the centre of the road when it went *THUNK* under my car. I wanted to stop and just see if it was okay but it was probably best that I didn't :(

RIP Bunny - I'm sorry :(

It probably didn't even know what hit it. Rabbits can suffer much worse deaths eg. Myxomatosis.

I once stepped on a crab. I heard and felt this terrible crunching sound, then I lifted up my foot and the crab walked off half broken. I think they can repair themselves though. Or is that lobsters that can do that?

Don't worry, they don't have problem breeding. Be thankful it wasn't a sheep or even a dear as they can cause some serious damage and the dear often don't die instantly so you would need to help it or leave it suffer if you want to visit the flames when you die.

WTF do you need to pay a fine for hitting a rabbit? What about birds that might fly in your way?

Are you serious? Wouldn't a deer like break through your windshield?

The Department of Liscensing here says not to swerve or stop for animals on the road, but to go over them insteda. :(

Yes of course. What would you rather do, hit the rabbit in the road or swerve into an oncoming vehicle?

Hey who said road kills are ok? I don't believe this is the case but I'm pretty sure 90% of the road kills are avoidable

Like a nice cat that used to come eat in my garden, she got killed in a 25kph zone because some teenaged prick didn't bother following the law

poor animals...

Nah, it was a small doe and I drive a big pickup, so all it did was break off part of my grill.

You should turn yourself in, pay the fine and deal with it.

What city are you living in that makes you pay a fine for killing a rabbit?

Check your local laws there are definitely laws against cruelty to animals, including blasting rabbits with shotguns. Otherwise people can just kill pets with no restrictions.

Who said anything about a shotgun? He hit the rabbit with a car. accidents happen, relax.

Cry me a river, build me a bridge, and get over it.

He ran a rabbit over, the world will continue to turn.

What? First, it was an accident. Second, it wasn't cruel. As I said above rabbits can suffer much worse deaths by a disease called myxomatosis. When a rabbit gets run over it's so instant it wouldn't even know what happened.
