I wanted to make this a poll but wasnt sure how. But as for the question itself, even Rollins said he realized it wasn't the same accomplishment. One is a single season record and one would not be. Whether they'd have to suddenly make a new statistic category after such an accomplishment or whatever it's not the same record. Either way it should count because there is already two different records. I dont think there are two different records for this. I have never heard it called a 56 game single season hitting streak! Only a 56 consecutive game streak. I have argued this topic with many people over the past few weeks. I know that Rollins is done but if and when this record is broken (NEVER!) if it happens over two seperate seasons how can anyone say it isnt legit? It would be harder to keep the momentum going through the offseason and start back up for a new year.
