uTorrent tracker problem

Question

Client: uTorrent 1.5

Tracker URL: ///a tracker that is reliable///

Tracker Status: offline (timed out)

UPLOADING...not downloading

i have no idea y the status is always at offline(timed out)

when i check their site (ThePirateBay.org), it says my file has 0 seeds and 0 peers

i know that it isn't the tracker's problem cuz other files from other people do not have this problem

i think i also had a similar problem with Azureus when i was uploading so i dun think its uTorrent's probelm either

-thanks

It's a problem with the tracker, not ?Torrent. Sometimes when there's heavy load on a tracker, it will report it's offline because the request from your client is timing out. You're connected to peers through DHT/Peer Exchange, or you got some seeds/peers from the tracker when/if you were connected earlier. Make sure you have both Enable DHT and Peer Exchange checked when you're using a public tracker.

if you dont want to get warned you should remove this link, the other day I got warned just for helping someone make backups of their dvd

Really? Then be careful talking about Maximum PC magaizine, then. The April 2006 issue tells you how to copy/convert DVD's, copy-protected CD's and downloaded music.

Tristan,

I have raised your warning level for posting links to circumvent the DVD Copy Protection system. Making backup copies or not, this type of discussion is not allowed on Neowin.

btw.....

uTorrent doens't seem to let me use DHT and peer exchange

it says

DHT status: not allowed

although in preferences i did enable it
