repairing an old picture

i got an old picture of my dead grandmother from my uncle, and its been really damaged. It got wet while in the frame and the glass got stuck to it, then the glass got broken... its a real mess, im trying to repair it using photoshop but i don't think im getting the right results, maybe you guys can give me some tips, i don't mind starting over to get it to look good.

This was beyond tricky.

I honestly think someone who is a professional photo restorer would have an issue with this one, I really do.

here is my attempt.

Sorry it is so blurry and much lighter than the original, but it was really the only solution I could come up with. Super hard. Good Luck. (Y)
