sharpy2k4
i got a kinda 5.1 surround sound kit and a hifi with 2 speakers in my room, and am curious as to how i should set them up, there is nowhere in my room to position the rear left speaker, can anyone tell me how i should set these up, or whether to use the 5.1 set up with my computer (for music, gaming and occasional music) and the hifi connected to my 360/xbox 1, or the other way round. t_bonerman02
You could aim the front channels directly at you and then turn the rear channels toward the walls. Sound waves bounce very easily. Check out the new Bose 3-2-1 surround system its got 2 speakers and a subwoofer. The speakers (in front of you) are basically pointed (inside the enclosures) at odd angles to go around the listener and then come back from behind for surround. Also ensure that your subwoofer is not directly in contact with the floor (you wont get as much sound as most of the waves go into the ground). You could even line the speakers up kind of like this: Left Rear: 45 deg to the left........Left Front (on top of the rear speaker): 45 deg to the right Center: Directly toward you (usually very close to the monitor or television) Right Rear: 45 deg to the right.......Right Front (on top of the rear speaker): 45 deg to the left Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/455226-how-should-i-set-up-speakers/#findComment-587445026 Share on other sites
