dubya
I doubt we will see any more tricks that require dexterity from Mr. Blaine. The nerve endings in his hands have most likely suffered irreparable necrosis (ie. they died). The human body is simply too permeable to remain at homeostasis in an aqueous environment for that long without significant damage. Even with the gloves, extreme hydration (to balance out his fluid loss), and temperature controls, I wouldn't be surprised if we read about amputations resulting from his stunt. Osmosis is a bitch. Pox
I made some of that the other day. It's really easy. Just coat your hands in diamond, get some liquid hydrogen, and squeeze your hands together really REALLY really hard. :) LMAO! Hum
NEW YORK (AP) -- Magician David Blaine left the hospital Tuesday where he had been admitted for observation after being submerged in an 8-foot fish bowl with an oxygen mask for a week followed by a 7-minute breath-holding stunt. Blaine started training in December, with some help from Navy SEALS. He lost 50 pounds so his body would require less oxygen. The water temperature was regulated to help keep his core temperature near 98.6 degrees, and he ate and relieved himself by tubes. He remained tethered to an oxygen tube. As early as on the second day of his challenge, Gunel said, there was evidence that Blaine was suffering liver failure; the medical team consulted with medical experts at NASA before stabilizing his condition. http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/TV/05/09/d...e.ap/index.html Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/457389-magician-begins-fishbowl-stunt-in-nyc/page/4/#findComment-587490629 Share on other sites
