1) it hides the ads, microsoft gives you a free service the only thing you have to endure are one or 2 little ads. you should at least have the respect not to hide them. if you don't like them, don't click on it. But you agreed to msn (windows live) messenger to be adware when you downloaded it, respect that agreement.
I have the same problem with adblocker extensions for firefox, they take away the income of people who work hard and invest a lot and whose only revenue are ads. And on the long term, it's only making companies more determined to deliver the ads anyway which means resorting to spyware. So do us all a favor, don't block ads!
2) it's clearly a violation of the messenger eula, and as such illegal. why are people even allowed to post about new releases on neowin? i have the impression that neowin always uses two kind of standards in these matters
