Well holy **** thats loud.

Mine is silent, and i mean silent

I have the following

Coolermaster Wavemaster Case

1X Panaflo 80mm low speed top intake 1900rpm

1X Panaflo 80mm low speed exhaust 1900rpm

Enermax PSU (able to change the speed of PSU fans, down to low setting)

Sound proofing

1X Ceradyna 80mm 2100rpm CPU fan

Zalman Passive Graphics Heatsink

Computer is silent, can barely hear it.

Also, computer is in 2nd bdrm which is a computer room/gym room. But even if i had to sleep in same room as it is, its so quiet that i wont have a drama.

The computer i screwed together is pretty noisy, but a good game machine. My Mac Mini is super quiet. We have some new DELLs at work that are top notch. They are really fast and you can barely hear them.

It is bliss to have a silent computer IMO. The computer is now the key driver of most people's sound systems. Also an office or a lab with a lot of computers in close proximity can be REALLY noisy if special care is not taken to reduce the noise of each computer.

Anyway, my loudest computer is probably around 25-30 dBA (guess).

My computer at night, the blue led lights are so bright that it can used as a night ligtht

And heres what part of what my computer looks like:

(Note: Dont worry about the red dot/circle thing on the bottom right, thats my cell phone charging up)

Mine's almost completely inaudible. I have a watercooling setup (for the CPU and graphics card) with 5 120 mm Antec TriCool fans including 2 on radiators, 4 Samsung hard drives (in RAID), and an Antec NeoPower 480W (modded with another TriCool 120). All in an Antec P180.

As my friend was having trouble with his current graphics card (a fanless Radeon 9550), I tested it in my pc and the noise level dropped to practically silent with the side of the case on, and it gave out no low-frequency noise either so I can leave it on when I go to sleep without ANY disturbance at all. Now all i need is a fanless cooler kit for my 9800 Pro (which currently has a dodgy Arctic Cooler on it :()

This is the server rack starting up the battery back up craped the bed today so it wont stop beeping :-P

Smart-UPS 1400 from APC... you have dead batteries they'll run you $60US each on average although there are sutable substitutes.

As for the original post, I think it would be quieter if you opened the sides of your case and used 30" box fans. Heck it might even run as cool as you need it to be.

edit: quoted the wrong reply, sorry
