acedriver
ROME, May 11 (Reuters) - Juventus's board resigned on Thursday, the club said in a statement, after days of press revelations over embarrassing telephone interceptions involving its top management. The Italian Football Federation is investigating the content of tapped telephone conversations involving Juve general manager Luciano Moggi talking of refereeing appointments for games with a Football Federation official responsible for selecting match officials. "The board has tendered its resignation," Juventus said, without offering any explanation. The case has rapidly snowballed, with public prosecutors in Turin, Rome and Naples now reportedly investigating alleged widespread malpractice involving referees and several Serie A clubs. http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=reu-...uters&type=lgns http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/newsArticl...NTUS-URGENT.XML http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/may11i.html this thing is taking a big turn to the worse... Martyn
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/europe/4993482.stm It is a shame because I really like Juventus, after Heysel they have built up a really great relationship with Liverpool. Powa
^ Yeah, apart from all their fans want to murder all the scousers. They needed a hell of a lot more police officers when you two played in the Champions League. I heard they might get relegated, get this years, and last years title stripped off them! Haha! There are bound to be people who are still hurt by Heysel and want to seak revenge, Italy is known for violent football, just look at that flare thrown at Dida last year in the Champions League and the match got cancelled. At Anfield though there was a lot of wounds healed between the two clubs, any football fan who watched the Anfield game would have to agree. tiagosilva29
Ah yes, the Italian football/calcio scandal... They're actually considering going further, by making signing foreign referees to work in their league/cup matches. That's just how things are corrupted in there!
