xpgeek
I like it a lot, but went back to 1.5.0.3 already because, on a clean and new profile, had major right click context menu probs within minutes of install. gigapixels Veteran Posted May 14, 2006 Veteran Share Posted May 14, 2006 Well, yes, I knew the version string would be different, but I have all the same features as Alpha 2. So I think I've pretty much got Alpha 2, just tagged as an Alpha 1 Nightly. supernova_00
You think there will ever be an easy way to reopen a closed tab? There is already a patch for it and its in review. On target for alpha 3 EDIT: I meant beta 1; as well as the tab overflow ui Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/460573-bon-echo-alpha-2-milestone-releases/page/2/#findComment-587508346 Share on other sites

Chode
It'd be damn near revolutionary if it wasn't already in Opera :shifty: I was thinking the same thing  Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/460573-bon-echo-alpha-2-milestone-releases/page/2/#findComment-587508882 Share on other sites
StartMeUp
These new *features* of Firefox 2 are poor. This is more like Firefox 1.7.0.0 should be. xpgeek
I figured out why my right click context menu's were getting whacked in this. Usually, since I don't use the search box at all, and remove it from the toolbar too, one of the first things I do after installing is go into the search plugins folder, Program Files\Bon Echo\searchplugins, and delete all the plugins, since I'm never going to use them. Been doing it since 1.0. But, now that 2.0 uses the selected search plugin to search from the right click menu, having zero search plugins just whacks out the menu when you select text and right click. So have to keep at least one in there now, the one you actually want to use to search from the right click menu with, and have no problems at all now. pyehac
Close buttons now appear on every tab, I hope we can change it to the regular position. That's the only reason why I still use FF even though it has the memory leak (or else I'd be using Netscape) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/460573-bon-echo-alpha-2-milestone-releases/page/2/#findComment-587509336 Share on other sites
chrisgeleven
I hope we can change it to the regular position. That's the only reason why I still use FF even though it has the memory leak (or else I'd be using Netscape) A simple extension (which I think someone has already created) "fixes" this if you want the old behavior. FlibbyFlobby
This build has some really great features in it. I'm especially enjoying the integrated RSS feed reader and the spell checker. Hopefully when its finally finished the features will rival IE7's current features. Malisk
Safe Browsing (phishing protection) will be in Alpha 3. Oh, that means Firefox 2 should have that feature when it's done, just like IE 7. I thought that would be some edge IE 7 would get, but hmm... That's interesting. :) Fun to watch the browser wars unfold. These new *features* of Firefox 2 are poor. This is more like Firefox 1.7.0.0 should be. lol, 1.7? Besides, you don't even have all the features that'll be in Firefox 2 yet. :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/460573-bon-echo-alpha-2-milestone-releases/page/2/#findComment-587509992 Share on other sites
Neil
These new *features* of Firefox 2 are poor. This is more like Firefox 1.7.0.0 should be. Well considering that they are not all in, however Places been dropped is a blow. Anyway I am happy with 1.5, I am going to wait intill the RC's or maybe Beta's.
