What was the scuffle at the end of the game all about ? Some argentinian players were ****ed on some1 and trying to throw lashes at him. Could anyone identify who he was ?

btw the game kept me glued to the tv for more than 2 hours. The first half was so-so because both the teams were playing in a defensive mood ( argentina did try some tacticle moves ) but the 2nd half was thrilling. I was almost in tears when i saw argentians net the 1st goal. I kept telling myself if a miracle dosent happen within 80th minute the hosts are out.

did anyone notice so much time wasted by the argentinian players. the goallie wow he felt the pain excruciating enough when they were ready for the free-kick hun ?

3 more minutes to go for italy-ukraine i say italy will beat them 2-1

Players of both teams clashed on the pitch after Germany beat Argentina on penalties to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.

German team manager Oliver Bierhoff appeared to be at the centre of the melee and incurred the anger of the Argentina players after their defeat.

Fifa officials and referee Lubos Michel were caught up in the fracas as punches and kicks appeared to be thrown.

The chaotic scenes went on for over a minute in front of the 72,000 crowd.

Ukraine definitely didn't deserve to lose by that big of a margin. They were the only ones that actually wanted to attack in the second half and a couple of shots to the post and a few goal line saves by defenders prevented them from scoring.

lately heard that on berlins fan mile there were 1 million (1,000,000) people...

so yes germany is the party nation number one

my example was just kassel with 200,000 INHABITANTS :p

Rooting for Italy the whole way but my second favourite Argentina has been eliminated, hopefully my other favourites England and Brazil don't suffer the same fate. :/

Italy has a good chance because of the superb goaltending from Buffon.

Again, from a relatively neutral stand-point (Aussie, impressed by Argentina's match against Mexico and S&M, but also impressed by first 10 minutes of Germany's match vs Sweden), I feel that Argentina were hard done by not to win. Ayala's header was magnificent, as was Klose's, but it really seemed to me that Argentina had more attacking prowress and their accurate passes in the mid-field clearly attributed to that, outshining Germany's all game.

A standout player for Germany was Frings - he was involved so much of the time, harassing and losing his marker. Lahm did not play as well as he had in the earlier stages of the tournament - I think Maxi Rodriguez shut him down very well for most of the match. On that note, did anyone else feel that Lahm's challenge on Rodriguez inside the German box deserved a penalty? The replays clearly show Lahm's right foot connecting with Rodriguez's, and for that, Rodriguez was shown a yellow card - a poor decision I believe, which possibly kept Germany's hopes alive. Ballack falling to the ground, clutching his face (when he was not hit anywhere near his face) was very disappointing for me as I'd held him in such high regard before. Furthermore, the referee seemed oblivious to that incident, but not to Ayala's holding of Ballack's shirt whenever a corner was taken.

It was a disappointing way for Argentina to exit the World Cup, as they were undoubtedly the most exciting team to watch thus far.

Its too bad Portugal gets no love from anyone. Every station and analyst here in the US gives Portugal no chance against England, which I find laughable. What World Cup have they been watching? They predicted a Mexican win over Portugal; Dutch win over Portugal; now they are saying Portugal doesn't stand a chance against an English team that has yet to show itself in this cup after four games and had a horrendous showing against an Ecuadorian team that didn't even play to their fullest.

Time to prove everyone wrong, for a second straight week tomorrow.

L3thal, the tv/news dont know a **** about football, they just go with the hype.

For ex.: Spain scored 4 against Ukraine in the first round, so the next day all the press was saying that Spain was favourite.

Portugal would win against England, thats for sure. You just need to know a bit of football to notice that.

But now without Deco, Costinha and maybe C. Ronaldo im a bit unsure. But still have chances.

Btw, today i can use my new PT tee for the first time....before the BR game of course. :D
