bangbang023 Veteran Posted May 28, 2006 Veteran Share Posted May 28, 2006 I dont think you can convince the average consumer to either 1) upgrade to vista, 2) buy a computer capable of vista or 3) believe that Vista is more secure than XP...most dont even care or know about computer security. Actually, I think the more than common belief that Windows is totally insecure will entice people to move over. Also, as was the case with XP and 98 before it, a majority of the propagation is going to stem from the OEMs. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/464661-microsoft-announces-ie7-for-vista/page/2/#findComment-587551121 Share on other sites
L3thal Veteran Posted May 29, 2006 Veteran Share Posted May 29, 2006 most dont even care or know about computer security. Oh no? The average consumer is very well aware of security issues that their computers face nowadays. For that same reason its why company's like Geek Squad have prospered in doing what they do. The average person will now come into a store and look for an antivirus much more often than they did a year or so ago. Sure, Vista will not make the average person switch over because of better security, but saying no one cares about security is something that would be true one year ago but not today.
