Does this mean that MSN spaces will be totally renamed? Or will we be able to take up new usernames? I have got a new Live.com email address and I was just wondering if I should get a msn space or wait for live spaces seeing as thats the only way I can get a profile

Well, no, it won't "remain the same" -- it will eventually end up being spaces.live.com, and they will migrate the addresses when they're ready. Right now I think they just did some pre-emptory address changes to the typical spaces.msn.com URL for your blog, I think its now (USERNAME).spaces.msn.com -- and so, it would follow that in a logical sense, Live Spaces would mean the following blog URL formats: (USERNAME).spaces.live.com

You need to read what i wote. I said it should remain the same. but with the name change. reason why i didnt put that is becuase we know msn spaces will change to live spaces so no need to tell people what they already know

I did read what you wrote. All I did was state that in a technical sense, no it won't "remain the same", not the naming conventions and what not for older spaces.

I'm not here to assume what it is you meant, as apparently, when I do that about your apparently innate inability to spell, you like to bitch about that too. :|

Since I have a hotmail account associated with my MSN Space, I can't really move it over to my new Live account. I contacted MSN space:

Dear xxxxxx,

Thank you for writing to MSN Spaces Technical Support.

This is xxxxx and I understand that you want to associate your existing Space site with your new Microsoft Passport Network account. I understand how important resolving this issue is for you.

I am sorry to tell you that the said feature is not currently possible. You may delete your current Space and create a new one using your new account.

You can delete an MSN Space provided you are recognized as its owner and you are signed in using the same Microsoft Passport Network account you used in creating it. I have included for you below the steps on how to delete a Space.

1. Make sure that you have signed into your space and are in "edit mode".

2. Click the "Settings" tab.

3. Click "Space Settings".

4.Scroll down to the Delete your space section, and then click "Delete my space".

5. Click "OK".

In deleting a Space you have to consider the following:

- You cannot retrieve the space or any of the content, including photos that you had on your space.

- You cannot create a new space using the same URL for 60 days. If you want to keep your URL, edit your existing space rather than creating a new one.

You are a valuable customer to MSN and we are glad to give you consistent and effective service.

Thank you for using MSN Spaces.

Regards,

xxxxx

Okay, I know how to delete the thing. I would if I could get the username back.

well that sucks! this is probably the only thing keeping me away from getting a totally new email address. I got too many random people on my contact list so I probably would like to have a revamped contact list.
