hi. i never used reshacer, could you tell me exactly what i have to do with it? navigate where, change what, etc.?

thank you!!

"Reshacker": http://www.pt.lu/comnet/desc/reshacker.html

Okay, here is what you have to do. Copy Shell32.dll (in Win/System32) to your desktop - run Reshacker and open shell32.dll

In the AVI subfolder, find one of the AVIs you want. Open it in ResHacker (make sure you're not trying to directly edit the one in system32 - Make a copy, and place it on your desktop and edit that one) then go to the same AVI, 160 or whatever.

Right click it, choose "Replace Resource" and then click the "Open file with new resource..." button, Find the AVI file, Then in Resource Type box put AVI, Under name put the number you're replacing, like 160 or whatever, Then under Language, if you have are using English, type 1033.

Once you've replaced all the AVIs you want. Save it, then replace the old system32 the same way you did before.

No problem ... when you replace the old shell32 ignore windows-file-protection and clear cache:

C:\\Documents and Settings\\USERNAME\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\Iconcache.db

(delete Iconcache.db - windows write an new version)

or:

Start/Run/ (and type under Dos-prompt): sfc /purgecache

Good luck - you can change all icons, avis, BMP`s :yes:

he cant do animations like this, becouse this animation was in windows vista. in vista the download anymation is the same as win95 had :D :D :D

-.-.-.-.-

my problem is, that this avi file is way too big, so when the system starts it takes toooo long to cache this files. tooo long. and the animation is smaller than the space for it :D. i use 1280x1024 resolution

Here is the link for both of the AVIs I mentioned in another thread.

Also as far as I have seen all the Vista tranformation packs just put a static image in this space, At least this give you the choice to use it with WB if you want.

I never understood the need for animations as these :p Info and progress bar are just enough. It only makes it harder for you to customize your icons :p
Amen to that. That doesn't really apply here, though, because IIRC Vista uses that same animation for all the different types of file-progress dialogs. And I like it :)
