Portugal are the next opponents, and hopefully everyone remebers what happened last time, dumb ref. But what's your opinion? spa2k Posted June 26, 2006 Share Posted June 26, 2006 England have a habit of underestimating the "easier" opponents ie paraguay, ecuador and thus making a meal of what should be an easy game for such a talented bunch of footballers. England also tend to be able to raise their game when faced with quality opponents. Unfortunately we have a rather pants manager who could not manage the standard pi$$ up in a brewery. We have the players and ability to be able to beat portugal, who have an ageing squad and plenty of players on yellow cards (thanks to the crap ref last night). Its all down to the mood that the players take to the field on the night, England certainly have the ability, its wether or not the manager instills the belief and the right tactics. Personally given the chance I would go out to germany anyway, the atmosphere looks awesome, possibly the best world cup yet for the fans....
