I don't think Germany are as certian to win as people think, they've only played two good teams...sweden who didn't put up any fight at all and Argentina which was a close call. I think they have also had many lucky calls from the referee too, they will find the Italian defence difficult to break down and may have peaked too soon. Being the home team is a very powerfull advantage though, we'll see soon enough :)

ding! ding!

Germany, I fully expected them to get to the final again and with Brazil out they probably will take it all...They play very well and out of all the teams this year the team that impressed me the most was Germany

 Ok so I guess I am not as impressed with Germany anymore :pinch:

I am glad to see that no handbags a being swung around here! The other thread has actually been closed due to some serious tensions and emotions running rather high! Thats football I guess! Well done to Italy and rather sad about Zizou, not a good way to go. :(

I'm looking forward to the next cup. Being in Africa, i wonder how gameplay styles will change to adjust and cope with the heat. Less sprinting and more conservative, thought out football?

That sounds just about right, unless they of course close the roofs on many stadiums.

The 2010 World Cup is being held in my country (South Africa) and if I'm not wrong it will be in the winter! We have pretty wet and cold winters in the Western Cape (Cape Town) and although summer rain occurs on the Highveld it gets bloody cold as well! Heat will not always be a factor but high altitude on the Highveld will most definitely create problems for some of the teams, Mexico should be best equipped to deal with it.

The Johannesburg, Pretoria area is about 1 to 2 deg Celsius, The Bloemfontein area is -2 Deg Celsius and the area that I am in is between 7 and 10 Deg Celsius, not that hot, daytime temps 20 to 23 deg Celsius!

All I can say is I hope that we will be ready and that the new stadiums wll be ones that have roofs that can close, I hope so!
