I am sure this is full of bugs like always, aol has alwas been crap, and this is nothing new :(

Don't judge a book by it's cover, or by its predecessors. ;)

I don't think I have been this excited by a new version of AOL since 4.0. There are tons of new features and enhancements in this new version, more than in 5.0, 6.0, and 7.0 combined. The beta testing period was quite enjoyable, as I slowly saw all the bugs disappear.

The bugs have all been fixed as far as I know, and there shouldn't be any at this point.

You know how AIM 5.0 has that "buddy is typing a message" feature. Does AOL 8.0 have that, and if it does... will it work together with AIM?

Yes aol 8.0 does have that, also it worked for me when I was typing to my aim 5.0 buddies, and Shock you should also try the new deadaim beta 2.06 it has msn style alerts and logging now. http://www.jdennis.net/index2.htm if you havent already tried it that is. :)

they post crap about msn why not post news about aol... maybe you should try it before you knock on it. :devious:

I have used it, it sucked :)

I used to use it in like 1995, and resently used it again for a while, there is nothing good about it, I will use MY ISP, and IE or Mozilla :)

I have a cable connection, but every time I try to cancel AOL, they offer me more free time, so what can you do? Anyway, I grabbed the 8.0 final, and amazingly (and this part *is* big news) there wasn't one POS link or shortcut added to the system! Did they forget to spam our desktops this time? I can hardly believe it. I ran the beta for awhile, and it seems plenty stable. A few nice new features. Who knows, but v 10, it might actually be cool! :)

Hey...pretty much everyone knows AOL sucks as a service. The actual software doesn't seem all that bad. There are some people out there, myself included, that have a cable connection at home, but need a dial-up while they are out-and-about. Plus, when you consider that I got 6 months free with this laptop, well, sucky but free just doesn't seem that bad, especially for how infrequently I have to use it.

BTW, I'd really appreciate it if someone would throw up a download link. I recently did a system reinstall on my laptop, and if 8.0 has been released, I'd rather not install 7.0 just to get it.
