This release is based on the all-new AutoPatcher 5.1. Although it was made with Windows XP SP2 English in mind, it will load on any (English) Windows version, showing only the items which match the running environment. There are also special releases for Portuguese (thanks Gandolas), Polish (thanks Marcin.Riki), German (thanks Tarnatos!), Greek (thanks heZzel), Italian (thanks dkdk_it), and Turkish (thanks KenanBalamir) versions of Windows.

@shof, look up!

the (v6.1.22.4) text is 1 line higher in the list. it should be beside 898461, not 898458.
im pretty sure its correct, if you hover over the 898458 setup file, it displays '6.1.22.4' as the version. 898461 is v1.

Hmm, if I reinstall XP SP2 English version and if I use AutoPatcher August 2006 Full to update my desktop, the following weeks, the following months :

> I can use Windows Update?

> or I have to use only AutoPatcher?

@apul, you can use the august release this month and then next month you can either download the september update release or you can use windows update.

if you start using windows update again and come back to autopatcher in the future, download the latest full/lite release and all the updates after it and just carry on. note that you need to delete older copies of autopatcher when installing new full/lite releases but not update releases.

@Shof, oh, i didnt know you were refering specifically to torrents. i guess M2Ys4U removed it in favour of just torrenting the larger releases. youll have to download vai http from one of the other mirrors.

I guess it's wrong there as well. In fact, even MS messed it up. The hotfix is v1, the version of 898461 is 6.1.22.4 (version of the package installer).

Hi, anyone else getting KB912817 installation crashing?

Also some of the WMA SDK / Windows Media Player hotfixes don't install if they find the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center

in the registry. Don't know what puts this there, is it there by default? Only other thing that might have put it there for me would be back when I still had the nVidia PureVideo Decoder on?
