_BeanZ_
Little more info please - do you mean they cannot access the sharing tab on file/folder properties or is there an error message generated when they try to share? +BudMan MVC Posted August 22, 2006 MVC Share Posted August 22, 2006 If their domain account is a member of the local Admin or Power users group, and still no share tab.. Check that the server services is started on their machine. Curious why would you have users creating shares in the first place?? You do know there is a 10 connection limit on XP pro.. With 15 users, your going to run into issues if everyone wants to connect to the share that is on a XP machine. Normally in a setup where you have moved to running AD, there would be a file server where users share files to and from.. This would allow for easy backup and control of data access. This could be the same machine as your DC.. And the network admin would create the shares and set permissions, etc.. Eversurf
Like budman said.... 1. Check to see if the domain users group is in the local administrator group on each PC. 2. The concept of a Client/Server setup is to have the Server do the file sharing and all other services. Create a folder on the server and named it U1 and have the user U1 copy his files in there and that way everyone with the right rights can access the data Have fun!!!
