downloaded, verified, burnt, and disc verified as well, but when I went to install, it wouldn't boot to the disc...and XP didn't recognize the disc either - gave me a readme file though, about needing to have a OS with UDF support  I guess it was a burn error...so I'm trying the burn again

My system doesn't do aero glass still....oh well

New things:

1. slightly new boot screen

2. ask about network if connected on first boot (home, office, public)

3. slightly different welcome center

4. WU found all of my devices this time

how long did installation take?

any change in boot up speed from power-off?

thanks!

thx for the screen

how long did it take to install on your system?

umm. looks a little suspicious too me. if u zoom in on the bottom right, u see a little interference where the text for the build is, so i wouldn't be to sure.

hmm. on second thought, i took a screenshot of 5472 on my system, and it looked kinda the same, so, it's probably real :)

Hmm...my system didn't do glass too well to begin with (but 5472 picked it up just fine), but I do remember I used a method of "tricking" Vista into thinking I had a better videocard. Go in device manager and update your videocard drivers, but choose a better model. I don't recall the exact sequence of clicks, but you want to end up at the screen where you can choose among all the various videocard drivers to install. I have a Nvidia Go5100, but for a time Vista could've sworn I had a 6800

27 minutes from product code to first boot

Was that an improvement over the last builds you used? Also, try and get Glass working and take some pics of key areas (ie: Control Panel, computer management etc). Lastly, are you able to change the UI language yet? Thanks

I've installed it as well. Glass seems to be default set to be a bit more blueish... Now I have to figure out why my network connection is so flakey on this build... I can get to some sites, but not others...

This build took me just under 24minutes to install. A major improvement over 5472

But I am off for a late night dinner...more to come in an hour or so.

Can someone tell me if Microsoft intends to fix those two icons in the taskbar? The Audio and Networking icons? They seem so un-Vista'ish. When is Microsoft going to stop using all those Windows 95 and 3.1 icons >_>...

Ugh...Someone in the BETA send them an email and tell me to fix those icons in the retail release version >.<

Those two icons are not Windows 95 or 3.1 icons.
