A comparison of resource usage, between:

GOM Player

VLC Player

Windows Media Player 11 (beta 1)

Media Player Classic

It seems to be more CPU intensive than other players, so I wouldn't use it for playing a video in a window while doing other work. I use Media Player Classic for this purpose, as it's interface can be EXTREMELY light. Even too light...

It also seems to have a noticably improved sound quality over VLC, and a far superiour interface.

I would recommend it for videos where it is the primary focus, but for everything else I'd still use MPC.
