autodefe
So I managed to accidentally open all 106 applications in my Applications folder... You might be surprised to learn that my MacBook handled it all fairly well... 8 minutes after they started opening I was able to close them all again, no problem :D I guess having 2 gigs of ram doesn't hurt either :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/495097-this-is-what-happens-when-you-load-100-apps/ Share on other sites

autodefe
I was trying to backup my apps so I selected them all. I was planning on deselecting a bunch that I didn't want to backup, but instead of command+clicking, I command+double clicked... and bingo... yikes? MasterC
Try that on a Windows machine, and you'd have to force a reboot  Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/495097-this-is-what-happens-when-you-load-100-apps/#findComment-587874261 Share on other sites

Menge
that's nice :D i went nuts and did this on windows too :) i logged in on a remote desktop on the same PC i'm on, so i wouldn't screw my own session (so that meant TWO simultaneously logged in users running apps) just to try it. Windows didn't allow me to select all shortcuts and open them at once (guess it figured it'd be hell). so i had to open all programs manually :p Athlon64 X2 3800+ 768MB of RAM 172 processes page file usage went as far as 1.2GB but the OS kept responding quite nicely :) glad to know that we have such nice OSes that can handle a HUGE load like that :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/495097-this-is-what-happens-when-you-load-100-apps/#findComment-587874343 Share on other sites

Menge, do you have Windows Server as your OS? If it's XP then how did you make it open remote desktop at the same time while you was logged in? hoginhaze
Hmm, judging by TS Manager & TS Licensing in Task Manager Menge's computer runs Windows Server, most likely.
