This is what happens when you load 100 apps

Recommended Posts

So I managed to accidentally open all 106 applications in my Applications folder...

You might be surprised to learn that my MacBook handled it all fairly well... 8 minutes after they started opening I was able to close them all again, no problem :D

I guess having 2 gigs of ram doesn't hurt either :)

that's nice :D

i went nuts and did this on windows too :) i logged in on a remote desktop on the same PC i'm on, so i wouldn't screw my own session (so that meant TWO simultaneously logged in users running apps) just to try it. Windows didn't allow me to select all shortcuts and open them at once (guess it figured it'd be hell). so i had to open all programs manually :p

Athlon64 X2 3800+

768MB of RAM

172 processes

page file usage went as far as 1.2GB but the OS kept responding quite nicely :)

glad to know that we have such nice OSes that can handle a HUGE load like that :D

Menge, do you have Windows Server as your OS? If it's XP then how did you make it open remote desktop at the same time while you was logged in?

You can make a quick change to the registry or apply a patch.
