Toology
I'm a Gaim user but I have to admit it is not lite by definition. It is unclutttered but not lite (nor heavy) on system resources and understandably so because it supports varying protocols and is reliant on GTK. I hope someone takes advantage of libgaim and makes a client specifically for Windows. It would be great if it could become what Adium is for OS X. Valmor
To everyone who wants to use the regular Windows theme, check out the Theming tab on the AIM Lite website http://x.aim.com/laim/theming.php We aren't ready to go ahead with theming just yet but it's way up there on our list of features to add. We are going to continue working with one main theme, but with upcoming releases look for the ability to make your own theme, or pull in the theme of your system (so it will look like whatever windows theme you are using). Hope to see some more features like: Set your own profile and view profiles Timestamps in chat for each msg as well as in logs Support for joining/starting chat rooms Sounds (not important to me but I know some people like having the incoming IM sound) Privacy features (block/unblock) See when your buddies are typing and let them see when you are typing I never really liked direct connect though, rather just file send pictures. iconoclast
Um... so this application is EXACTLY like gaim? http://gaim.sf.net - including the tab conversations and minimalist approach to design. It sure is, just like how Firefox is exactly like IE or Opera. They all show websites! WTF button is GREAT! I like how you can sample the OS GUI. idk if that was previously available. No sounds, I don't mind. Miniaim didn't have any. Buddy Aliases are here, which is great. File tranfsers is there, and that's all the more i could ask for. Overall very slick, and it is now my new default AIM client. Good work! (Y) /edit close=minimize to tray ftw! I hate buddy lists that stick in my taskbar.
