alittlegroovin
The things that truly surprised Shamrock was when he got the news of having a third fight with Ortiz. Parties sat down and hashed out the details, Ortiz-Shamrock 3 was not only signed, but put on free television via Spike TV on October 10th. Do you think it will be his chance to knock out Ortiz? Is it a payback time for him? Who?s going to watch it? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/501005-shamrock/ Share on other sites
LRoling
I'll watch it, but only because I know Ortiz is going to lay another beat down on him. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/501005-shamrock/#findComment-587931144 Share on other sites
digipoi
They both suck. Ones too old and ones just not good enough to beat the elite in the division. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/501005-shamrock/#findComment-587931620 Share on other sites
DrunkenMaster
I never thought Ortiz was a good fighter. Shamrock was one of - if not- the best in UFC at his prime. I think he's 38 now, so he's about 8 years past his prime. There's no way, I think, he's going to win. All in all though, I stopped watching UFC. The only time its kinda entertaining to watch is when there's no grappling because it always leads to the mounting moves. Then its really boring to watch. The bigger heavier guy usually wins. Or, in the case of Royce Gracie, uses his guy to stop people from slipping out. Yawn! Seen it all before. metallithrax
According to ufc.tv Shamrock is 42. He is still an idiot for taking the fight no matter how old. Ortiz beat the crap outta him twice. What has he to gain from this fight (apart from a payday) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/501005-shamrock/#findComment-587932248 Share on other sites

Kriz
I think so, Shamrock will definately retire if he loses this fight. Theres a huge chance of him losing it, he's lost it in my opinion. His style is still suited to the old UFC, and Ortiz is so much of a stronger fighter. The second fight was stopped stupidly early in my opinion, but even if it did carry on, Shamrock wouldnt have stood a chance. alittlegroovin
This is not the way he planned things, this is not the way he wanted to go out. For the previous 13 years, Shamrock lived his life as a professional fighter in a certain way, and right or wrong, he lived by the decisions he made and learned from his mistakes. One thing was a constant though ? win or lose, he wanted to go out as a fighter, with his head held high. Nobody knows what will happen on Oct. 10. oh by the way are you going to watch UFC 64? DeemanXu
Am looking forward to UFC 64, and can't wait for it to start. I hope that Shamrock wipes the stupid permanently parked smirk right off of Ortiz's clock. I loved it the first time, i loved it when Couture did, and especially loved it when Chuck Liddel shut his pie hole as well. I can't help thinking though that if Shamrock did win, Ortiz would want another go as it would be 2-1 to Shamrock, and we all know what Tito's like !!!. Am a big fan of UFC, and never miss an event. We don't get it live here in the uk, but watch it on a channel called 'Bravo', which get's the event a couple of days after, if not the next evening. I haven't got the fight list, but here is a direct link to the fight card page, for those of you that are interested: UFC 64 Fight Card. Enjoy ;) Oh, and UFC 65 should be a good one - Matt Hughes defends his title against George 'Rush' St Pierre. Discuss ? I sure hope someone defeats Hughes, not only is he getting boring owning everyone in the Welterweight division, but if you saw him coach on TUF you'll realise how much of an ###### he is! The rest of the champions are pretty nice guys, but Hughes, no, no! Hope GSP kicks his ass! snyper
They both suck. Ones too old and ones just not good enough to beat the elite in the division. True, but a little harsh on Ortiz. I saw him fight Cote last nite, it was his first win after loseing to couture and chuck L. He was very one dimensional and it went the distance. All the same i think hes in the top 3 UFC light heavy fighters. Liddell is incredible and wins my respect. Matt Hughes, although a great Champion, is, in my opinion, full of himself. He's arrogant, thinks that he's above everyone else, and also thinks that he's undefeatable. Saying all this though, he showed some real heart, grit, and determination to get through what must've been the most difficult 30 seconds of his career when he managed to survive BJ Penn's double submission move (UFC 63). Being held in a Triangle choke, and a somewhat 'odd' Armbar must've been incredibly painful. For surviving that, then going on to win he has gained my respect, as that must've taken some doing. Still, i think he really needs to change that attitude of his, or one day, his over-confidence/arrogance shall be his untimely demise. Zoom7000
Warning, Spoiler below! It was great to see them bury the hatchet after the match. Top marks to both Tito and Shamrock. As Goldberg said, great fighter with a huge load of class. "We made our money, and it's just business" - Classic one from Shamrock! Thanks for the memories Ken! DeemanXu
Well, i've just watched UFC on Bravo over here in the Uk. Primarily to watch Tito Ortiz V Ken Shamrock, and i can honestly say i'm very disappointed. I thought Ken might have made a better fist of this contest, but ultimately he was beaten to a pulp by a reinvigourated Tito. Tito looked fresh, and determined to get the job finished, and finished early. He swarmed allover Ken, and engulfed him from the word go. I felt sorry for Ken in the end, and wish him all the best in what ever he'll be doing in his life afterwards. Many thanks Ken for a glittering career, some unforgetable moments, and you are so deserving of the title " Legend ". Roll on December, and Tito's pending fight with the Iceman.....muhahahahaha. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/501005-shamrock/#findComment-587955712 Share on other sites

digipoi
Ortiz is a true shame to the game. Whats with the double middle fingers after the match? Whats with the over-the-hill pornstar girlfriend? Loser. Chuck will smash him. In fact, wasnt it the Chuck fight where Tito couldnt stop crying in the ring. What a ***. DeemanXu
Ortiz is a true shame to the game. Whats with the double middle fingers after the match? Whats with the over-the-hill pornstar girlfriend? Loser. Chuck will smash him. In fact, wasnt it the Chuck fight where Tito couldnt stop crying in the ring. What a ***. Unfortunately, Ortiz's celebratory 'moves' after a victory are a little over-the-top. He's not the only one doing it now though. I don't know whether or not anyone caught the last UFC, but, Ultimate Fighter Winner Kendall 'da spider' Grove performed the very same victory dance. Personally, i find it to be of bad sportsmanship, and a little 'disrespectful' to the fighter that has just been beaten. Celebrations though have always been a part of this business, every sportsman has their own way of celebrating - no matter how over-the-top it is. As for Chuck, and, Tito's rematch, i cannot wait to be honest. Yes, as you so rightly point out, he did cry like a baby for what seemed an eternity, and yes, he's going to be crying again when all's said and done as Chuck will end-up knocking the holy hell out of Tito once more, as has been proved in the past, Tito cannot cope with the very 'elite' in the Light Heavyweight class - Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture both dominated him. This time around, i feel it might be a closer battle, but, that is going on how he fought an ageing Ken Shamrock. He looked fast, strong, powerful, deadly, and completely tore Shamrock to pieces. However, Chuck is an amazing fighter with the punching power that could knock out a Horse, and has the best ability on a fighter i've ever seen as regards getting straight back up after being taken down - no idea how he does it, he just stands up  . As an early prediction, i'll say Chuck will have him in the second round, about 2minutes and 15 seconds into it - people, place your bets  Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/501005-shamrock/#findComment-587968190 Share on other sites

I whole-heartedly agree with you, Snyper, and a very good point you have brought up here. Tito Ortiz is good for the sport. He's the guy that everyone loves to hate, me especially, and people will no-doubt pay just to see him get knocked into the middle of the next millenium.
