I'm happy to see that this monster is not the 300W power hungry demon that was rumored.

nVIDIA still ask for a 400W PSU

I can't wait until Q2 2007 (When I will get the money *sight*) to buy this beast :p

Well, you have to keep in kind that if the card sucks in 300W, then you will need at least an extra 100W to power the rest of your components. Keep in mind that your GPU is not the only thing sucking up the juice :p

Why the unusual amounts of Memory? 768mb. 640mb?

Because of the Bus width.... you have 384 bits and 320 bits respectively... and the memory chips available have a 32 bit interface each so you need 12 and 10 chips respectively, that means 12x64 = 768 and 10x64 = 640

You're half right:

7800GT - 20 pipes

7800GTX - 24 pipes

7900GT - 24 pipes

7900GTX - 24 pipes

Anyway, those are some crazy specs. It's a shame it's not using GDDR4 though.

I was reading on wikipedia a bit but I got confused, what's the difference between pixel pipelines and vertex pipelines... and also what's the difference between pipes and pipelines?

6800Ultra - 16 pixel pipelines

7300LE - 4 pixel pipelines

7300GT - 8 pixel pipelines

7600GS - 12 pixel pipelines

7600GT - 12 pixel pipelines

7800GS - 16 pixel pipelines

7800GT - 20 pixel pipelines

7800GT - 20 pixel pipelines

7800GTX - 24 pixel pipelines

7900GS - 20 pixel pipelines

7900GT - 24 pixel pipelines

7900GTX - 24 pixel pipelines

7900GX2 - ?

7950GX2 - ?
