Mark Skaife - HRT / Jack Perkins - Jack Daniels Racing Race favourite Mark Skaife with HRT was forced out of the race on corner two, after a major clutch slip from the grid, the car had no speed, and Jack Perkins hit him into the wall, forcing both cars out of the race before lap 1 had ended. Jason Bright - CAT / FPR Second favourite on the day, and became first when the above occured. Car was running well, and was leading by more than 5 seconds, when Bright lost control, and exited the track. Causing him to make an un-scheduled bit to change a tyer. The car was running well, and the dropped a cylinder, and had to pit again. The problem could not be fixed, and the car / team is out of the race. Jim Richards - HRT Hit the wall on the Mountain. Second safety car of the day, and the second and last car for the HRT team is out of the race. HRT leaves Bathurst for 2006. Steven Johnson - FirstRock Home Loans Lost control of his car on a fast corner, and hit the concrete wall bacwards. Steven Johnson leaves the race also. Matthew Halliday - FPR Bad damage to the rear left of the car. Needs a replacement wing, has been put into the shop for the time being. Will lose quite a few laps, but will probably finish the race. Cannot win from here. Ford Performance Racing and Holden Racing Team, both of the factory teams, cannot win this race. John Bowe - Team BOC Hit a wall, damage to the ack left of the car. Entered bits very fast, missed a ripple strip, and was given a bad sportsmanship award.
