bangbang023 Veteran Posted October 11, 2006 Veteran Share Posted October 11, 2006 And so starts the annual feeling of anxiety as everyone with an Audigy asks themselves if it's wise to play Russian Roulette with more Creative software. Creative drivers continue to be the only ones that I actually worry about touching. jadkins555
With the drivers before this I would skip the installation of the Audio Console and just use Windows Speaker Setup to get surround sound functioning. Not so with these drivers. If I set my Windows Speakers Setup to 5.1 I still would not get sound coming out of my rear speakers. I was forced to use the Audio Console in order to get surround sound working properly. Speaking of which, it seems to be redesigned since I last installed it. I think it looks great and I love how it doesn't run in the system tray anymore. 999
Vista RC2 Drivers also released (Can use on any 2k/xp/2k3 os), and are Newer than these, and as the drivers are Universial, go ahead and use them :) http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/bo...message.id=2174 why do they timeout in november 2006? JRosenfeld
Because the Vista drivers are beta drivers and they intend to have another beta or final before then. beta software often has a timeout. bangbang023 Veteran Posted October 22, 2006 Veteran Share Posted October 22, 2006 has anyone installed the drivers yet ? how do they perform ? I bit the bullet today. No horrid side effects so far, though the sound quality seems the same to me. The new control panel is cool. Stalk3r
The "audio console" under creative in the start menu group it created. This one: http://stalk.msn.ee/Clipboard01.jpg ? That has been there in every driver I've had installed previously and I haven't noticed anything new to it with this last release. Let me know if I have missed anything :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/502289-creative-sound-blaster-audigy-driver/page/2/#findComment-587977090 Share on other sites
